In any case, I suppose I should keep posts relevant, so sure. As with anything, there's specifics:

Firstly, I couldn't give two-shits less about your fetishes/fandoms/whatever. Just make sure you don't go around eating people to feed your fucking wolf-pups, roam around in a Toucan Sam outfit in Wal-Mart, or try to fuck an actual goat. Keep it sane, and legal.

That being said, there are way stranger, and far worse things out there. I've seen some pretty strange shit on the internets, and unfortunately, I didn't have eye-bleach on hand, so I think that might have fucked with my brain, so seeing 2 mouse chicks fondling eachother is the least of my worries.

As for the artwork and stuff, a bit of it is pretty cool. It doesn't really help my status as an artist that whenever I want to draw any humanoid with an animal appendage, I get explicitly labeled as one, but still.

All in all, I'd say that I have a somewhat positive attitude towards furry-kind, but the constant attention-grabbing and such is getting old.

I always assumed that most of the furry culture was a joke. For those actual furries out there, I honestly couldn't care less. If you find enjoyment in what you do, go for it! The only thing I don't like about furries is that some of them have a habit of wearing their Internet persecution complex like a badge and making a big unnecessary attention-grabbing self-justification of their "fandom" which does their cause far more harm than good - I think that's the real beef people have with furries, rather than any of their actual activies. If someone wants to dress up as a wolf and rub up against someone else dressed up as a rabbit, or go to conventions, or whatever, it's none of my business really. Live and let live etc. I don't mind if people talk about it on forums or whatever. But just don't try and tell me that you're "fursecuted" when you can take off the suit any damn time you want.

Accept them, I do. I'm not very sure on why they are the way they are from a relative standpoint, besides the obvious logical 'because they choose to be who they want'. I do accept them though, and I don't mind them. Being a furry doesn't make you any less of a person, much like most other things in life.

Because that's what being a furry is. It's a fetish. I'm not saying it's bad, and there's nothing wrong with it. But you're acting like you're a part of this persecuted minority when you're not. Whew. This thread is messy, and I'm guessing it'll get locked soon. I'm not sure if I can honestly say I expected better or not.. on the one hand, I thought Escapists were more tolerant, but on the other hand, furries are pretty damn weird.

So, that kinda gives away my opinion. I don't get the animal thing *at all*. It freaks me out when confronted with it, but honestly, I'm hardly ever confronted with it, and I don't know where the anti-fur people are getting this "y'all furries all stickin' it in my face" thing. Maybe they hang out at weird sites, and should expect to run into it a bit more.

I can't ethically bring myself to *hate* furries, no matter how crazy I think they might be, unless they're raping dogs and stuff, which has gotta be a pretty small minority. I guess it's just a weird kink, and I'm not especially kinky, so of course I'm not gonna get it, and I suppose I should work on acceptance and all that. Personally, I think people put a bit too much effort into cultivating their kinks, but I can only really know my own brain, so who am I to judge? Surely kinks must be desperately important to some people.

Seems like the furries have been more polite than the furry-haters. That's gotta be worth something. And I didn't realize there were so many of you (furries) on here. Sorry that I can't identify with you at all, and can only 'tolerate' you.. that's kinda shitty on my part, I know. But if I could give one piece of advice: if you do know any freaky hardcore furry friends who are actually down with bestiality, please inform them that it's tantamount to sex with a child or a retarded person and *totally not cool*: animals can't consent, can't understand, and if someone's fucking them, they're just being used... oh, shit, what about using them for meat? Have to save that for another discussion, I guess.
