Fable 2 wasn't a bad game by any means, but GOTY? Seriously? My personal pick would be Fallout 3.

But no, ofcoarse its not the best game known to man, I never said it was. For one thing, theres not nearly as much Replay value as a lot of multiplayer game due to the lack of maps and the fact that, no matter what the AI director does, your still facing the same AI enemys over and over again.
But, it still one the most intense multiplayer game, if not just game, I have ever played. That, in my eyes, make it better than a half finished game, at least to me.
X-Play and most of G4 are sold out because they all talk the same about decent games being 'the evolution of gaming forever' bullshit! I hate G4 and I am a huge video gamer. Adam Sessler is self-proclaimed 'expert og the industry' gag me. Morgan Webb is hot but that's all she is. I remeber when she was in Call For Help when Leo was only a guest host on occasion. She was hot and stupid then and not much has changed except the provocative outfits and not being behind a desk.
There definition of exclusives are a joke they spend 30 minutes on hype games and say shit like 'you'll only see it here' but like 1 hour before the show starts you can come here and read about it or voodoo extreme or farcry and get what you need without having to put up with Sessler's attempt to stay young.

Personally i liked Fable 2, but it wasn't GOTY material.
I mean i reckon if it hadn't been for Fable's original success then Fable 2 wouldn't have been that popular.

X-Play has been a joke since they changed it from Extended Play... which is a joke compared to Gamespot TV (Man, I'm old).
Seriously, after ZDTV became TechTV, there was certainly a time of real change, not all for the better (I liked Silicon Spin and Audiophile), but the main focus of the channel remained the same, a smart, yet geeky look at technology in general. Then the new merger, where anyone who wasn't downing their Ritalin pills with Red Bull needed to be shown the door, by throwing them out the window.
But, to go back to the OP, honestly, I really have stopped looking at those award shows. The last time there was good, honest, awards seemed to be the old days of PC Gamer (back with the spined magazines that a full year's worth would be tall enough to call a chair.)

I'm so sick of idiots bashing the G4 network with the logic 'it's new, therefore it sucks' and 'MORGUN WEBBB NOES N0TH1NG @BOUT GAMING!!!1one!'. The former is pure idiocy, and the latter is sexism. I don't mean to offend the OP in any way, but come on, people. It's not that bad. Yeah, you might disagree with some of their decisions or choices, but people disagree with Yahtzee too and he has plenty of haters. The same goes for IGN. And, surprise surprise, pretty much EVERYONE that reviews games.
It seems now either people disagree with their opinion vehemently, therefore they're 'wrong' and 'they suck' or 'they changed things now it sucks.' So what if you disagree with them? That doesn't make them the Antichrist. That doesn't mean that all of their reviews lack any form of merit. Anyway, that's just my two cents/rant.

Well, first of all this is not the best place to put this question because as far as I can tell the majority of The Escapist's posters are more interested in games like Half-Life 2 and Resistance 2, not that those games are bad, just that it's a huge step in a different direction then Fable. Don't get me wrong, a good game and a bad game is completely up to ones personal tastes, but I think that X-Play was trying to think of the broad spectrum of people who play video games, and that Fable 2 was a game that not only a hardcore player can pick up and get into but a casual gamer can play it without being alienated by complex controls and menu screens that have become second nature to more seasoned gamers. I saw the awards, and if you notice, they say that all the games on the Game of the Year list were amazing games people should play. But what I'm saying is someone who?s only played The Sims and wants to get into different games is not going to be able to play Metal Gear Solid 4 or Fallout 3.Russia208 said:

I'd go so far as to say "punk-ass noobs". At any rate, G4 has become as detached from gaming culture as MTV has in relation to music. If that comparison doesn't get the point across I'm not sure what will. At this point anything coming from G4 lacks credibility. A pity, too. I haven't played Fable 2 but I'll definitely rent it now. Fable 1 was "meh" with some of the dumbest "plot twists" I've ever seen in a game.
But now I know what to expect from Molyneaux. He's not a bad guy, just a bit overeager. Like a little kid that is given a genie that wishes for things in slightly the wrong way.
