Not sure if this counts or not, but surely Valve. Not their games, but Steam. (They're still a developer.) I used to pirate all my games until I discovered Steam sales.

Well I have wasted $200 of my OWN money to play Bith by Sleep(needed a PSP, didn't have one) and ever since Chain of Memories, I've been a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, and Square in general.

I am also trying to get into the Final Fantasy series as well. So expect me to put out around $400 for a PS3 and the Ultima version of Versus XIII with the story book and everything like that.

On that list, it is mostly Epic (for the Gears of War franchise), Bethesda (for Oblivion and Fallout 3 + Fallout New Vegas), and Valve (with The Orange Box, TF2, Portal 1 and 2, and LFD1 and 2).

Neat. I never really thought about this. Great thread idea!
Bethesda didn't make Fallout: New Vegas.

That's why the writing's good!

That said, it's Bethesda for me too. I just really love open worlds. Second would...well actually it'd be THQ because of all the wrestling games I've gotten. But I want to say Rockstar because of how HARD I bought Bully.

Bethesda, Valve and Ubisoft, for the most part. Younger, it used to be Nintendo, Blizzard and Sierra.

Yes. I'm that old.

As of late it has been Ubisoft, Konami and Bethesda, my poor poor wallet.

Yeah same here, I remember Sierra too, a good portion of my games were them, and Nintendo too.

I am confused. It says here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas

(and on the cover of the game, I think) that Bethesda also developed it.

At this stage, none of those.
Been playing more indie games when time permits (and am eagerly waiting the next Terraria update so I can upgrade my Doom Fortress with mechanized traps).

It was published by Bethesda, but the actual game was made by Obsidian, a team whose members consist largely of the guys who used to work for Black Isle studios, the developing team behind the first two Fallout games. Obsidian also made Alpha Protocol, Neverwinter Nights, and Knights Of The Old Republic 2.

Well...alrighty then. I am still confused about why Bethesda is in the "Developer" section. There is no denying that.

Definitely Koei...it's like I have some compulsion to give them all my money for whatever product they release!

I can't wait for DW7 Xtreme Legends :)

They did the many, many patches---which makes sense, since it's Betheda's Gamebryo engine that NV is built on, so they'd know how to fix problems with it better than anyone else.

But in the very first sentence of that Wikipedia entry, it says it was developed by Obsidian and published by Bethesda. The game's box, which I've got not 3 feet away from me, will tell you the same.

Probably Valve or Bethesda...

Although if we mean ever, then it's Nintendo all the way, but only because Nintendo systems were the only ones I owned until PS2

Valve owns my wallet. (Steam wallet. See what I did there?)

I own all their games, except L4D, but they didn't develop those, it was Turtle Rock Studios.
This is kind of misinformation, Turtle Rock Studios did develop the original Left 4 Dead but the studio is owned by Valve anyway and near the end of development the folded into each other. So they're basically different teams in the same company, and pretty certain Robin Walker (Team Fortress 2's lead designer) played a HUGE role in making Left 4 Dead 2 so that's basically bread and butter Valve.

Not that it matters you didn't buy 'em, just clearing up - they're as Valve as Half-Life 2 ever was, and more Valve than the original Portal. If you can measure "Valve-iness," anyway.
Oh, that does make sense then, because they did some work on CS:S.

I didn't buy them because I only play on PC, because I don't own a new enough console, and my internet sucks for online games. I play them at my friend's houses, local co-op. Better that way. And, I don't have to pay!

Rockstar, Bethesda...

Seriously. That and, dear god, Nintendo. Nintendo owned 90% of my allowances as a kid.
dear god i loled when i saw this picture, gonna save that one for latter.
OT: Bethesda has by far taken most of my money. extra 60 for dragon statue? hell yeah. 30 dollars for the strategy guide? of course! was more then happy to buy all their games, and that does not look like it's gonna stop soon
