Not sure if this counts or not, but surely Valve. Not their games, but Steam. (They're still a developer.) I used to pirate all my games until I discovered Steam sales.
Bethesda didn't make Fallout: New Vegas.Coldster said:On that list, it is mostly Epic (for the Gears of War franchise), Bethesda (for Oblivion and Fallout 3 + Fallout New Vegas), and Valve (with The Orange Box, TF2, Portal 1 and 2, and LFD1 and 2).
Neat. I never really thought about this. Great thread idea!
Yeah same here, I remember Sierra too, a good portion of my games were them, and Nintendo too.IamLEAM1983 said:Bethesda, Valve and Ubisoft, for the most part. Younger, it used to be Nintendo, Blizzard and Sierra.
Yes. I'm that old.
I am confused. That's why the writing's good!
That said, it's Bethesda for me too. I just really love open worlds. Second would...well actually it'd be THQ because of all the wrestling games I've gotten. But I want to say Rockstar because of how HARD I bought Bully.
It was published by Bethesda, but the actual game was made by Obsidian, a team whose members consist largely of the guys who used to work for Black Isle studios, the developing team behind the first two Fallout games. Obsidian also made Alpha Protocol, Neverwinter Nights, and Knights Of The Old Republic 2.Coldster said:I am confused. It says here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas
(and on the cover of the game, I think) that Bethesda also developed it.
Well...alrighty then. I am still confused about why Bethesda is in the "Developer" section. There is no denying that.Freaky Lou said:It was published by Bethesda, but the actual game was made by Obsidian, a team whose members consist largely of the guys who used to work for Black Isle studios, the developing team behind the first two Fallout games. They did the many, many patches---which makes sense, since it's Betheda's Gamebryo engine that NV is built on, so they'd know how to fix problems with it better than anyone else.Coldster said:Well...alrighty then.
