Surely it's no real different then someone getting one of a random Japanese character/mythical beast. Just another form of media and this way you've experienced it first hand. Not sure if I'd ever get one but the chain idea is brilliant, if it was a game it'd have to be something like Bioshock with invoked genuine thought or a game from childhood that I still have fond memories for so we're looking at either a triforce, some sort of gold eye or a blue hedgehogla-le-lu-li-lo said:i think it's brilliant.xxhazyshadowsxx said:Or my rendition:
"I really favored the philosophical undertone to a very popular game back in my day that borrowed loosely from a novel with the same philosophical meaning. So I decided to get a tattoo, as I wanted that piece of thought provoking art to travel with me always, to remind me to question authority, be a man, and don't be afraid to make your own descisions."
Thats what I would say, personally.
Just because it comes from a videogame doesen't make it any less credible. Atleast I choose to get a tattoo with meaning, rather than going around with something that lacks meaning and just "Looks cool" (Which I see nothing wrong with, I just prefer my body art be deep and philosophical.)
and i agree, just because it's from a game doesn't make it less meaningful.

this is kind of funny, but I mean I have tattoos in on my forearms and I have a normal job and just got into grad school. and had it when I was doing counseling.....makes me wonder when this was madedanosaurus said:Oops... i think something like that is WAY better than those idiots who walk into a parlor that does flash tattoos, points to a butterfly, dragon, tribal swirlies and says 'i want that.'messy said:Surely it's no real different then someone getting one of a random Japanese character/mythical beast. The tribal one seems to be oh so common where I live, and the people who get them are just idiots and normally so uncultured it's painful to watchla-le-lu-li-lo said:i think something like that is WAY better than those idiots who walk into a parlor that does flash tattoos, points to a butterfly, dragon, tribal swirlies and says 'i want that.'messy said:Surely it's no real different then someone getting one of a random Japanese character/mythical beast. that drives me bloody nuts. luckily i found a parlor that won't do flash, so i don't have to get super angry too often.![]()
right? it's like 'oooh i have bulging muscles. that makes me tribal!'messy said:The tribal one seems to be oh so common where I live, and the people who get them are just idiots and normally so uncultured it's painful to watch
Something like that, they do think it makes them look "'ard". I could understand it if you visited the country they're from and (at the very least) sampled the culture but this defiantly isn't these peoplela-le-lu-li-lo said:right? it's like 'oooh i have bulging muscles. that makes me tribal!'messy said:The tribal one seems to be oh so common where I live, and the people who get them are just idiots and normally so uncultured it's painful to watch
or does their logic not even go that far? and they just 'look cool.'
so lame, so lame. :[
yeah, exactly.messy said:Something like that, they do think it makes them look "'ard". I could understand it if you visited the country they're from and (at the very least) sampled the culture but this defiantly isn't these people
This sum it up nicely, well said.EnzoHonda said:Yeah, it looks more like a Zodiac sign than some specific trademarked character.
If I were to get a game tattoo (not going to happen) I would pick something very niche-market and/or old (Like from my SNES days) or I'd take inspiration from a game. Like copy a game character's tattoo.
Most unique idea I've heard. Gonna add some Little Sister hands on it?xxhazyshadowsxx said:I'm going to get the Great Chain from BioShock on my wrist/lower arm whenever I can.
(Trying to make it as original as possible. My current idea is having a hand outstretched in the backround with the chain themselves.)
Thats also quite a good idea.Panda Mania said:Most unique idea I've heard. Gonna add some Little Sister hands on it?xxhazyshadowsxx said:I'm going to get the Great Chain from BioShock on my wrist/lower arm whenever I can.
