Poll: Game Tattoos

Well at the moment, I don't really mind but I don't know if I ever want to get one.

A friend of mine has the red Mario mushroom on one side of her back, then a star/1up/power flower in a vertical line on the other side. I have to say, it doesn't *actually* look that bad.

Whilst I think a triforce might look pretty cool, I've never seen the point of paying someone to stab my skin repeatedly with an inky needle. There's something... masochist about it.

I know someone who has Knuckles tattooed on her shoulder. Me? If I'm getting one, it should be from one of the best games ever. So either it'll be the FFVII comet, the Kingdom Hearts Keyblade, or the Dagger of Time.

It depends what it is. If it's something ultra-nerdy then it's pretty stupid, but the chain tattoo from Bioshock actually looks quite cool and isn't obviously game-inspired.

So I decided to get a tattoo, as I wanted that piece of thought provoking art to travel with me always, to remind me to question authority, be a man, and don't be afraid to make your own descisions."

Thats what I would say, personally.
Just because it comes from a videogame doesen't make it any less credible. Atleast I choose to get a tattoo with meaning, rather than going around with something that lacks meaning and just "Looks cool" (Which I see nothing wrong with, I just prefer my body art be deep and philosophical.)

Surely it's no real different then someone getting one of a random Japanese character/mythical beast. Just another form of media and this way you've experienced it first hand. Not sure if I'd ever get one but the chain idea is brilliant, if it was a game it'd have to be something like Bioshock with invoked genuine thought or a game from childhood that I still have fond memories for so we're looking at either a triforce, some sort of gold eye or a blue hedgehog

I like the idea of game related tattoo's but i'd probs never get one. but i had an idea of getting one that looked like i was wearing a set of cog tags.

Exactly the same as what I think, I can't honestly see myself having the same fascination with the things I love at the moment in 10 years let alone the rest of my life so any Tattoo would be a no-no. I plan on never getting one but i'll wait and see =]

this is kind of funny, but I mean I have tattoos in on my forearms and I have a normal job and just got into grad school. and had it when I was doing counseling.....makes me wonder when this was made

i think something like that is WAY better than those idiots who walk into a parlor that does flash tattoos, points to a butterfly, dragon, tribal swirlies and says 'i want that.'

that drives me bloody nuts. luckily i found a parlor that won't do flash, so i don't have to get super angry too often.

Something like that, they do think it makes them look "'ard". I could understand it if you visited the country they're from and (at the very least) sampled the culture but this defiantly isn't these people

Yeah, it looks more like a Zodiac sign than some specific trademarked character.

If I were to get a game tattoo (not going to happen) I would pick something very niche-market and/or old (Like from my SNES days) or I'd take inspiration from a game. Like copy a game character's tattoo.

This sum it up nicely, well said.
You want something that can stand alone as a piece of artwork, that when all meaning & understanding of the game has been lost, it still looks good.
That's why I picked the Ookami, it looks good and stands alone.

The boo will always be a portion of Mario.
