As I was reading a Quake Wiki I randomly stumbled onto, I was wondering... how many other people actually read this stuff? Who was fanatical enough to write/edit this content?
So... do you read or contribute to game wikis? Poll (hopefully) enclosed.

For myself, I end up stumbling onto them, usually from googling something for the game, but end up reading a good chunk of the content.

I don't contribute to wikis...

But I have the Halo wiki and the Warhammer 40,000 wiki on my favourites tab.

Occasionally I've used the Doom wiki and the Mass Effect wiki too.

They're always very interesting and I just end up reading for ages.

I read them a lot especially the trivia section, the problem with them is they're not so good when it comes to actual tips regarding gameplay with the exception of glitches a lot of them focus more on the lore of the game's universe but that can be interesting to learn about.

Touhou wiki is useful because there are SO MANY FREAKING CHARACTERS!
Sometimes I have trouble keeping them straight. Plus, it does point out some interesting facts about the characters and their origins (inspiration).

I love them. I myself tend not to have the level of attention to detail that contributors have, but I'm glad they can share the information with others.

It's not much, but I just love reading up of the lore of the games I like. If there are certain weapons or concepts or aesthetics that really appeal to me, these are the places I go to check them out.

Also, places like Giant Bomb help me look up things like Power Armor or Weaponized Fish in video games, and that helps a lot too.

I used to read the Mass Effect one because I was interested in finding out more about the different species. I don't contribute to any though. And I also read the Warhammer ones (there are around three different ones I use, depending on what I need) just to brush up on the fluff. It's actually very entertaining.

I've quickly browsed a couple of game-related wikis, but I haven't really edited or read any of them in-depth before.

Does UESP count?

Because I use that a lot.
I read books, I look up lore, etc etc.

I really, really like Elder Scrolls.
Anything to prepare for the coming onslaught of Redguard Red Guard and their questionable methods, eh?

I have a folder in my bookmarks for wikis, not just video game ones though, tv shows and comics too.

I contributed to the Call of Duty Wiki a couple of times, and I use it a lot. I've been on the Battlefield, Red Dead and Heavy Rain Wikis too.

I only edit when there are blatant mistakes or painful grammar errors. They are often pretty useful. I have Halopedia, Mass effect wiki, and Guildwiki bookmarked at the moment.

I read them, but I don't contribute to them. Maybe I should start doing that, when you think about how much time I spend on some of them...

I can't say I often seek them out, unless it's to do with help on a game I'm currently playing, but once I'm at one I do tend to spend more time there than just looking for the answer I was seeking.

I've also never contributed to one though I have written FAQs in the past. Had they been around during my FAQ writing phase I know I would have contributed (and may still do so at some point I suppose).

I use MTG wiki daily. That count? If not Mass Effect wiki is very useful for planet charting.
