It depends on the game for me.
I popped in Burnout Revenge the other day and as much as I love it, I only play it for 30-40mins tops. Same thing goes for any Katamari or CoD game. But if I'm playing something like Fallout 3 or GTA, I'd like to play for a while. Shit, I can spend 30 mins just adjusting my inventory in Fallout 3.

Since the games are soooooo long I have to play League of Legends in stupid long sessions. It can be practically all day, every time I get a sweet Rengar ult gank off it motivates me to play another one.

Then I lose my jungle to some failtard Xin Zhao and I have to support instead... Gee thanks. I hate how people instantly dismiss Rengar as a character. The ganks are brutal. Any jungler who can nonchalantly stroll into bot lane (as in literally walk past your own turret) and kill them before they can react earns my undying respect. I KNOW he was broken as fuck for a while on release but he's far from weak even now.

I mean I can do anything but i'm a sub par AD Carry at best, I don't know how to top unless I can go Captain "Power Slam" Jayce and I only know how to play Katarina mid, maybe Lux but i'm not sure.

I hate how everyone thinks Cho'Gath counters Katarina. He really doesn't if you know what you're doing, it just turns into a huge farm fest for both of you because Cho is too tanky to kill and Kat is too mobile for Cho to catch. 'S fuckin' stupid.

I play a load of BlazBlue or UMVC3 but I don't think it takes that much time because the rounds are so short. More so in UMVC3 because people die FAST in that game and i'm getting better at not being cornerlocked 24/7 in BB so I don't die in 10 seconds and 5 instant resets.

Long sessions, always. Games like Journey, whose playtime might end up being shorter than 90 minutes, I instantly restart and play again.
That of course also applies to arcade titles, I gladly do the same thing over and over for 5 hours, as long as the title shoots quality in all directions.

Really depends on the game. Every now and then some rare game will keep me hooked for 9+ hours straight. Happened with Final Fantasy 7, Persona 3 or 4, Metal Gear Solid 3 are a few examples. Most games however I tend to have to take a break after an hour or two.

It really depends, you ever try playing an RTS for 5 minutes? You ever play temple run for 6 hours?

Personally I like to play games where I get really immersed so playtime for me can be pretty long.

I'll game for 12 hours. I like to relax when I game so the last thing I want is to have to pay attention to the time and make sure I reach a good end point or save point and constantly be thinking about what happens next.

There are a few games I have that I play in short sessions like Pokemon or Elite Beat Agents, but if I'm playing a serious game then I always play multiple hours.

Just wondering how you play!
I generally have more fun when I have an hour or two to kill and really, 'get into' the game. What about you?

Pretty much game dependant. I can hop into an online shooter for 20 mins at a time to blow off steam and cant take those in longer sessions. MMO's I cant do in just short spaces, have to dedicate large amounts of time to them and enjoy that more (though that might be because they are designed that way)

Cant ever just play 1 match of SC2, if I win I end up thinking "wonder if I can keep this streak going", if I lose I think "well I cant quit on a loss, just one win and I'll call it" and it goes in a cycle

Often story/immersion based too, if I'm getting really deep into a story it can draw me in and before I know it I've spent hours at it. Recent one is "The Walking Dead" where I couldn't just play a bit of an episode, if I started one I had to finish it in the same sitting as I got so drawn into the story

I guess long story short its wildly variable

Well I was going to answer your poll but there is no option for me. When I play games its generally for an hour to hour and a half with the rare time playing for about two hours tops. I rarely have time where I could play longer then that but even when I can I dont see the point. Well that and I get bored sitting around playing a game by myself regardless of if its single or multi player. I would much rather be out socializing then sitting at home for five hours by myself playing a game.

There are the occasional nights where I will get drunk with friends and play games all night but I dont count those because we spend more time shooting the shit and drinking then actually playing anything. I can also play for a little longer if I am sitting around with my girlfriend but again I normally end up spending half the time talking and not playing.
