Poll: gaming magazines

there aren't that many gaming magazines out there but they do provide some excellent information

which one is your favorite?

I am a subscriber to gameinformer, because they are the most awesome magazine out there(sorry, escapist)

P.S. if anyone would provide me with the name of the playstation magazine, I would be very grateful

I tend not to bother much with print magazines nowadays, what with it being quicker and cheaper to read the same stuff online. If I get one it'll be OXM since I don't own a PS3 and have so little interest in the Wii that I honestly don't see myself ever buying another game for it.

To be honest though... everyone's just going to get the one based on their console, so you might just as well have titled it "what console do you own?", with Game Informer being the 'more than one of the above' option and the Playboy one as the one to satisfy the teeth-grindingly irritating trend of putting completely useless options in every poll that's ever posted as if it's a legal requirement these days.

all my gaming information comes in the form of the escapist, and so I do not subscribe to any magazine. I did when I was younger have a Nintendo Power subscription, so I will go with that because it was exciting when I was younger to get hints and cheat codes when the internet wasn't readily accessible/invented.

I have a Gaminformer subscription from getting a Game Stop Edge Card, so thats nice.

I would never want to get a Xbox/Playstation magazine because they're obviosly biased and just feed hype to the masses.

Eh I used to be nintendo power but as I got more consoles I went with game informer because of the subsrciption through gamestop.

I've got a subscription to EDGE, always been my favourite gaming mag due to its focus on industry and development as much as the games themselves.

It's a bad time for them though, the internet is better in almost every way by now, I have a feeling it won't be long before they become extinct. =(

I've read Gameinformer for years. I think I started collecting around maybe...issue 115 or 120. I'd have to dig through my collection to find the earliest one.

EDIT: Checked the spines. Earliest one I saw was issue 111.

Out of that list I have GI because of my edge card. Usually will read the cover articles but rarely read it front to back anymore.

We here in the Benelux have just one magazine that dominates all the rest: Power Unlimited (yay, already in it's sixteenth year!)...
Maybe put an "other" option in the poll, to see what such "niche" (on a global scale) magazines score?

I bought a copy of OXM before I went on holiday not too long ago and my God was it the most biassed, fanboyish rag I've ever come across. Their insinuations and choice of language was terrible if they actually would like to have their reviews taken seriously. Plus I disagree with what they put in a lot of their reviews too.

So no, I don't read any.

Thanks. On the subject, more and more game reviews are becoming outdated before they appear...
Bad game devs started to stop giving out games to reviewers a few years back to prevent as much pre-release negative press as possible...
Unless they vouched a ten page extravaganzzzzza with guaranteed good note.
