Here's a hypothetical situation for ya: You've been severely injured in an accident, without major surgery, you will die. Would you rather have your damaged body replaced with a combination of flash cloning and genetic engineering or would you rather use advanced cybernetics to repair your body? Your comments and thoughts on the future on both technologies are greatly appreciated.

Cybernetics. I want to be Robocop!

Cybernetics can give you strengths that no genetic engineering can offer. You can have super strength, super hearing, you might even be able to fly! In the future, we might even be able to use cybernetics to grant immortality. The possibilities are endless.

Also the thought of us all being Terminators just makes me happy.

Cybernetics. They require more maintenance, but are more stable than a cloned tissue, which comes with a whole host of problems (graft versus host, genetic mutation, cancer, etc).

Genetic engineering.
Plasmids, anyone?

I'll laugh when Apple forces you to download iTunes to your frontal cortex.

Cybernetics. There is clear line on where the problems are then. Weird genetically engineered clone body? That's iffy stuff.

I'd probably just want to die and not go through the excruciating pain that would follow, but I'm a pussy like that.

If someone else choose for me, I'd hope they choose cybernetics. Both systems are flawed, but this one is easier to replace.

Cybernetics would seem like a good idea at first but at this point, wouldn't that technology [even though it's advanced] still require maintenance like the occasional joint lube and/or battery replacement [unless you want to plug your new arm into the wall at night]

I would rather do the Genetic option and clone myself a new arm [or whatever you may have lost] Besides, if you flash-clone a part of yourself, it would be cloned from your own genetic make-up and therefor, would not be rejected by your body.

In time cybernetics would be a good alternative but since at the moment I would go for the genetic option.

Genetic engineering. At least then you'd still retain something natural about you.

I would love genetics, it seems more natural and I would feel less like a machine.

I used to have nightmares about Terminator you know. I don't think I could handle being a cyborg.

Cybernetics just so I won't have to exercise for extreme strength... I want to be able to pick a car up by myself.

...But then sex would probably be ruined for me... unless another woman else has a cyborg body!

Well, assuming they produce the same results I will go with Genetic Engineering, I rather stay all biological.

Cybernetics. I love tinkering with mechanical systems and robotics. Plus I could call my self iron man

Anything that involves tampering with human genetics is extremely questionable. It would be nice to have a new biological arm, but I don't want to see doctors screwing with peoples' DNA to create the Ubermensch or designer babies.

I'd take both.

But I'll take whatever would give me the best superpowers.

Everyone but you, apparently.

On OP: Cybernetics. Easier to replace, far less limitations and it is so much more METAL. \M/
