I'm thinking a Saiyan, because there aren't many lifeforms I can think of that are visibly indistinguishable from humans, but more awesome. Flying, super strength, shooting energy beams from my hands, yet the ability to blend into society perfectly whenever I wish.

No, I remembered that, but I'm pretty sure it's possible to remove or conceal it, since in a good amount of episodes the tails aren't visible.

I enjoy being a human and would like to stay that way...but if everyone else in the world gets the option than I'd probably opt to be changed into some flavor of immortal, probably favoring the Deadpool what with an insane healing factor (I think that makes my answer, Mutant + Augmentations) just to insure my own survival and some mild entertainment for people in my general vicinity.

Hell yes I would. I would give up human form in a heartbeat to become a Planeswalker. Old school (not old old school) Uzra style Planeswalker. The kind that was damn near unstoppable and all powerful.

Saiyan or Shape-Shifter, still humanlike to blend in, jet awesome.

Or a cat... yes... a cat. Being worshiped all over the internet, having a human to serve me, feed me, cuddle with me when I want and who will forgive me everything I do... sight, cats have it easy.
But as a Shape-shifter I can turn into a cat... hmmm... now I'm even more tempted to pick Shape-Shifter over Saiyan. But the power and hair of those saiyans are also great... I don't know. :'(

I hate to burst your bubble, but the only part of that that comes standard with the whole Saiyan package is the relative super strength and even then you still wouldn't even be close to being as strong as the two mightiest Saiyans ever. Flying and energy beams are things that have to be learned even for Saiyans.

OT: Yes I would, I'd probably go with a shape shifter, but the kind of shape shifter that can only shift into animals, but can't mimic other people.

It completely depends on whether I would be able to change back ino a human at will... and even then I would be hesitant.
