Um... has any Halo game ever gotten GOTY?

Anyways, I like to play games before I decided, but if I was held at gunpoint, I'd gamble at Mass Effect 2 (or Starcraft 2 if it actually comes out this year).

Oh I forgot to mention Halo 3 is above all games on the 360 online. So yes all halo games have gotten GOTY, thank you, I forgot to strengthen my choice.

Listen, I love Halo, but first off, G4? Their "GOTY" choice means nothing to me. Second, Halo is not the best game ever, and, in fact, I believe more people play TF2 online.

You can't say it's above all games, because it isn't. It is a very enjoyable game, but it has way to many faults to be "the best of the best."

EDIT: But, addmittedly, I didn't know about the legitimate GOTY awards 1 and 2 hade won. Thank you for clearing that up.

He just wanted to know based on predictions with the gameplay footage and stuff, what would be the game of the year. If you noticed none of the games he listed are out yet so we have about the same amount of info on them.

OT : I would have to say that it is a 3 way tie between : MW:2 , Bioshock 2, and Prototype

Hype is never an accurate measure about the actual finished product.

Honestly, this thread is really pointless. We're way too early in the year to make predictions. I'm just a GoW fanboy, so naturally, I have to respond.

I say Mass Effect 2! I have almost no clue what to expect (besides faster elevators and more weapons) but its Bioware for Shepard's sake! Did anyone even watch the TOR cinematic trailer they made at E3?! Not that Mass Effect is related to TOR, but same people creating awesome games.

I quite agree. MW2 and Assassin's Creed look pretty good, but Mass Effect 2 absolutely takes the cake. I've never been this anxious about a game before. I'm literally hanging on every word from Bioware at E3 now.

Mass Effect 2 wont come out until next year, as will some of the others. Game of the Year should be OUT and played in THAT year. Also why just those? Other games out that are great. Ofcourse, most of the time the Game of the Year usually doesn't deserve it. Halo 3 and Madden had both won it and neither should have.
