If Tony Stark had previously encountered/faced Green Lantern or was aware of the powers and limitations that were granted by the Power Ring, then Tony Stark would obviously create a "Green Lantern Buster" suit that would allow him to win effortlessly (It would obviously incorporate yellow armor and yellow repulsor beams and weaponry).
Green Lantern Buster? Like the Hulk buster armours that always go so well? :p

Superman?
Goku?
Nope, they are all weak and pathetic
Lina Inverse would win
Hands Down
that's how it works when your trump card attack has the power to erase all of reality from existence.

You're either knowingly pegging the DBZ powers too low, or you just don't know very much about how they work. Either way, until you stop cheering so hard for the MU, this discussion can't really go anywhere.
DBZ characters can destroy planets, they can maybe go a little beyond that but destroying galaxies is far beyond their capabilities, if you believe it to not be so then show me where any DBZ character has destroyed a galaxy in a single blast. Skyfathers from Marvel, such as Odin, on the other hand, can routinely destroy galaxies as mere side effects of their battles and they're low tier as far as the overall cosmic scale of Marvel is. DBZ is far outclassed, and is honestly a joke compared to the Marvel Universe.

It sure is amazing how fast this turned into an off-topic Marvel vs DBZ strength measuring contest.

That's usually what happens with these things on most forums. There's a versus thread between two characters and somebody comes in and says that either Goku or Superman will win so it doesn't matter. Then some people in the topic (myself included) veer off course and have to prove them wrong and eventually the topic devolves into a Goku/Superman vs. thread.

The only reason Iron Man has so many votes up there is because he had decent movies made about him. Meanwhile Green Lantern did not.

Lets just say if neither had live-action movies made about them then Green Lantern would've won by a mile in votes, because anyone with half an ounce of logic would put their money on a guy who can basically change reality with his MIND.

Wait I thought that was Dr.Strange? Or the Scarlet Witch? Not the space cops? Am I missing something?

You know, there was a reason why warnings and suspensions used to be handed out for VS threads. This is an example.

[sub][sub][sub]Lantern wins.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Green Lantern would win the first fight, but then Iron Man would figure out a way to incorporate power ring technology in a new suit and win the rematch. Then an actual villain would show up and the two heroes would team up to beat him. Then Iron Man would never let Green Lantern forget that he won the rematch, and Green Lantern would never let Iron Man forget he won the first fight.

"Engage: Repulsor Frequency Rotation... Engaged. Visible Range: Yellow."
...
"Acquiring Target: 'Green Lantern'... Acquired, Estimated Range: 5 Kilometers."
...
"Target: Locked... Firing Repulsor Array, Sequence: Tango-4."
...
"Target: Neutralized."

*Tony has blacked out in the suit for the last 4 hours after a few too many bottles of scotch.*

That has been retcon though.
I don't really care if a retcon took away the GL vulnerability to a color, being sniped by a repulsor blast is enough to take him out anyway, regardless of the color of the beam.

I haven't caught up much on DC lately, are the Lanterns invulnerable to attack if they can't raise a 'shield' in time now? Sure they can make matter and stuff with the rings, but can they see a beam of light coming and react to it before it cauterizes their neck-stump? I always assumed they were more-or-less mortal (or some kind of alien) except that the ring lets them make matter, energy, and junk.

I don't see any targeting computers in that lame face mask. Unless Martian Manhunter is there to relay tactical data via-telepathy (which doesn't seem to be in the stipulation of Green Lantern VS Iron Man), what defense does a Lantern have from a high powered light beam coming at it from extreme range? Because Iron Man can do that, he's got computers and stuff.

I agree that it more or less comes down to who gets the drop on who, but it seems to me like Iron Man has the edge here, unless Green Lantern uses another hero's tech (bylaws?) to 'cloak' himself from Iron Man's sensors so that Lantern can get the first shot.

Hal has reacted and moved at faster than lightspeeds. Even if Iron Man gets the surprise attack, Lantern will block it, and then knock the stuffing out of Iron Man all within the span of a second, maybe less.

As far as I know the ring warns him to danger in the surrounding area. In which case he'd easily know about a 5km away attack.

In a blind fight (no preparations), Green Lantern can just imagine EVERYTHING Iron Man can do and more. He would win. The suit would take damage and fail (partially until fully) before the ring would weaken.
