I hated when Bioshock did this, but I suppose I couldn't complain too much, I had freakin' lightning coming out of my arms.

Half Life 2: I was furious when they took away my guns. Then they gave me the SUPER GRAV GUN. THE SUPER FREAKING GRAV GUN. All my complaints with that game disappeared instantly.

I'm a Democrat, I have and like guns, and think we don't need any more gun laws. Don't tar us all with the same brush, ok?

Metroid Zero Mission was fine until they took Samus' suit away. Seriously cheap.

Half-Life 2 did this alright, since it was near the end of the game and you got the super gravity gun in exchange. The time you had to give up your weapons in Bioshock annoyed me though, mainly because I didn't get back all my carefully saved up ammo afterwards; just the weapons themselves with a little bit of ammo (And in the context of that specific situation, not getting my ammo back didn't make a whole lot of sense).

it is annoying as shit when they do it, especially when you are saving your good guns and bigass guns with like 5 ammo but are huge explosion kills, and all the suddenn..*CUTSCENE!* *all ammo lost* "WTF!I WORKED SO HARD TO GET HERE WITH ALL OF THAT! I WOULD HAVE RAPED YOU IN GAMEPLAY WITH THOSE!"

but some games like at the end of levels where you dont immediately start off where you stopped, im fine with it.

This is why I like games (or game, I haven't really played any other, except maybe L4D) that take away your weapons:

IF it's done right or due to a story element, ok.
Ex.-Gaseous chamber. You use your gun, the spark causes an explosion (cue gunless mission that requires you to think a different way). You'll find them on the delivery belt on the other side of the room. You just have to get across.
Ex.-Oh, you fell down a hole and lost your super guns. You were able to hold onto the (generic pistol, rifle, and rocket launcher/flamethrower here). The super guns are nearby, but require a little bit of searching. Or, you can just go fight the boss behind the door. If you want to fight the boss and you win, he drops the weapons/weapons are revealed. Done once as an interesting gameplay element.
IF it's done wrong/for no good reason or constantly repeated
Ex.-Oh, you worked the entire level to get this weapon. It's superpowered. So amazing. Oh, you fell in a hole and your guns scattered. Go hunt down the weapons (each at least an hour walk from each other and surrounded by difficult enemies), and you get the key to unlock the door. For the third time.
Ex.-Weeeeeeeell, we're just going to hold on these for a short period of time *cough the rest of the game so you have to find them individually later, after you spent ten hours searching and finding each one *cough. See you later

Prototype had a section where you couldn't use your powers at all and then expected you to take out an entire base. That section made me rage pretty hard.
Have you tried prototype on hard that is alot of button presses just to kill one frigging mutant

O.T. I dont get angry since i probably went through the game mainly using stealth and melee.

It could be like singularity's last half hour running around pulsing everything in which cause your guns are like crayons and the tmd is the hand of god

I liked that section. The space pirates actually were a threat again, which I liked. I liked actually adding a stealth mission to Metroid's usual style of blowing up everything. I think taking away weapons is OK if it changes stale gameplay up.

I started it on hard and I just couldn't do it. I got to the very first part where you're being chased by the hunters for the very first time and you get the blade and I just raged. Although, it's another nice contrast to inFamous which I beat twice in a row and I beat it on hard without a problem.

I almost raged quit when they took my shit from me in Fallout 3 the Pitt expansion. The way you lose it is lame as hell. I was in a full suit of powered armor that can take a hit from like 3 rockets but they knocked me out with some stupid lead pipes. I had a fricken flame thrower suck it game.

I think moderation would be key. Giving them BACK later would be the deal maker for me. If I have worked hard for a specific set of weapons...

I can understand a hard game... I mean, it was seriously challenging to beat Gears of War 2 on Insane and I've beaten every campaign on Left 4 Dead 2 on Expert... but Prototype was just too hard on hard mode.
