Poll: Guitar Hero 5 Sucks

GH5 is par for the course for an Activision-created Guitar Hero game: Mediocre setlist--oh wait no, this setlist really SUCKS--gimmicky features, pointless celebrity appearances, and a timing window so wide that it does more harm than good.

I'm getting my $6 worth from renting it, for sure, but I'd never dream of buying it.

so guitar hero 5 can go die, the songs i imported from WT are unplayable! i can rock them in gh:wt, but in this game you fail in like 1-2 seconds.... failure of a game, go buy WT or even give rock band your money. Guitar hero has lost all respect from me. Go suck a fat one GH!!!

Ever since World Tour, I've found the songs in Guitar Hero to be atrocious. What's this pop and blues crap? World Tour only had a few songs I like and almost all of them were also in Rock Band 2, which has a far superior soundtrack. I know GH5 added a lot of welcome features, but what good are they if the songs aren't fun to play?

Anyways, I'm sticking with Rock Band now.

Whether or not you think a song sucks is less important than how the song feels to play. There are plenty of songs on the Guitar Hero roster that I don't like but some of them are very enjoyable to play.

I jumped shit after 3, and I have no regrets. I played World Tour one time and found the charts to be boring. Why can't they release the first two again but with the same mechanics and graphics as the recent games? I would totally buy that, especially the first game.

Also they just release shit too fast now. Last year, there were NINE different games (including Band and DJ Hero), and in the last four and a half years, there are have been TWENTY-ONE games (again including Band and DJ Hero). That's obscene. Keep in mind that Guitar Freaks, a series that has been around for 11 years, only has 17 games which have been released at a most consistent pace, and is now regulated to a yearly release.

I would like RB more if they had hi-speed and didn't also fall into monotonous boring chart syndrome. Also why was this thread necroed?

This. At least Rock Band was kinder to the bassist and vocalist (unsure about the drummer) instead of giving just the guitarist a good time (Two songs in Spanish, one in French, World Tour? Go die under a truck!).

It kicks the drummer in the face, the kit is nothing like a real drum kit (not even the same shape as a real drum kit), the precision has to be dead on, you can't be even a millisecond out of a note or you'll miss it but the drum fills to activate the overdrive is cool
