Nothing productive will come from this thread.
Partly because it is a poorly articulated repeat of an earilier thread, and partly because it will attract every troll/fanboy/hater on this site.

Edit: Also, what this guy said:

I've come to the theory that aside from the people who hate Halo just because it is not their thing (i.e people I respect) there are a few specific kinds of haters:
1. The fanboys of another console hating it because it's the big game on 360
2. The people who take Yahtzee's every word as truth
3. The pretentious fuckheads who hate it because it is popular and they want to convince themselves they are special
4. The hypocritical and annoying Valve fanboys
5. The ones who hate for the sake of hating.
6. The people who keep consistantly making threads like this one despite people telling them to stop with them.

The list is a representation of all that is wrong with a gaming community, to date as a trilogy Halo has a good story, great music, great fun mutliplayer, great new features come Halo 3 and overall a good solid trilogy in gaming. People who say it has a bland story are really just seeing what they want to see and as for gameplay and features I agree with Game Trailers:
"Only the people who WANTED to be dissapointed could honestly say they hated it."

So therefore only the narrow minded ignorant fuckskulls who don't even pay any attention to the story yet say it's shit, play it for about five minutes and say the gameplay is average then go and make I HATE HALO 3 I'M SO SPECIAL threads insulting the fanboys and then start paradoxingly fanboying Half Life 2 are the real idiots who are seeing what they want to see to embrace ignorance and now with this thread they are secondary to Creationists and Hummer Drivers in terms of people I hate and would like to grind into a wood chipper.

Please note, as always to differ myself from a fanboy, if you don't like Halo just because it's not your thing that's fine... otherwise if you fit any of the descriptions above please good sir allow me to say:

you annoying pathetic little nothings.

I liked Halo, it was by no means a bad game, I loved the co-op and sure if you do ranked online matches your only going to see people holding the trigger on the assault rifle, running straight at each other and pressing B. But on the Social servers it a blast cause less people take it serious.

The reason that you can destroy everything on easy mode is because it's EASY MODE. Heroic is more difficult because its HARD MODE. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

And I think you can unlock the mission related armor without live.

I thought it was a fairly decent game, not as revolutionary as halo 2 but not terribly to the extend that I hate it.

They only thing I really didn't like about it was the new HUD.

I liked it when the health bar was circular... The shzoooz sound seemed so much more appropriate... Whenever I think about playing it now I remember the good old days and my extreme dislike for the straight line. And play something else. It's petty but whatever...

Also whats the problem with connecting to Xbox live? You've clearly got internet and setting it up is easier then counting to 1. Besides it's not like the armours are critical.

Also I don't think complaining about the difficulty can be related specifically to Halo. Normally the distinction between them is, easy has auto-aim/enemies have less health/dumber AI. Normal is normal and harder difficulties generally gives you less damage/enemies more health/sometimes smarter ai. It's pretty common to most games. The only really unique example is in Crysis where in harder difficulties the enemies speak a different language and you can't prepare for their assults as well.

I'm currently playing through Halo 3 for the first time and I must say I'm quite enjoying it.

As a single player FPS it is well rounded (although I admit that the NPCs are a bit crap at driving). The controls are logical, the gameplay well rounded and the enemy AI suitably tough depending on the difficulty. I find the story quite engrossing (having not played either of the previous games in much detail) and particularly enjoy entering the bigger battles.

I think it really shines when you have a buddy to play co-op with. It's been awesome fun. I don't really like when games are mainly aimed at a multiplayer market (yes because I suck compared to most other online players) but I think the single player is good enough to separate Halo from these games... plus there's nothing quite like blowing the shit out of a Wraith all on your own.

I loved it until I started playing COD4. Even before I swapped full time to COD4, I wasn't really that impressed with Halo 3, especially comparing it to Halo 2. I don't know if any game could live up to my expectations after playing Halo 2 for years. God... good times.

You know what, I'm past being bored of Halo 3-bashing. Now I just look forward to seeing someone bash Halo 3 intelligently. I want to see someone roast Halo 3 without nit-picking at tiny details that most people would never notice, whinging about the story (it's an action FPS, for god's sake!), complaining about the utility of features that other games don't even have, or just blatantly making shit up. It hasn't happened yet.

level difficulty is extreme...
there are 4 difficulties... easy-normal-heroic-legendary. on easy you dont even have to fire a shot half the time-just run up and beat them but on heroic if you think bout beating down a brute you get laughed at- that and as the enemies get smarter, your allies get dumber.
Easy mode is too easy... but hard mode is too hard. Wow, that's a tough one. Gee, this is really difficult. Have you tried playing it on normal?!

The intelligence of the AI doesn't change. And you have insanely high expectations. How should your allies be able to predict where you're about to fire? Whether or not you're standing near a cliff is irrelevant, since the AI is designed to stay near you. Occasionally an ally might get in the way by chance; hey, it's never happened to me, but friendly fire happens in real war too, and it's not because real soldiers have bad AI. It's called "bad luck", or "you should have aimed better".

As for the allies killing you by accident... Look, it's never happened to me. I would bet good money that the examples you listed are the only times it's happened to you. Given that it happens so rarely and the penalty for dying is having to respawn about ten metres back in the level, why on earth would this ever affect anybody's opinion on the game?

Everyone bitches about the NPCs being bad at driving as though that's a game-breaking flaw. This is just not that big a deal. First, there are only a handful of driving sections, and second, it's more fun to be the driver anyway. How about giving Bungie a little credit for designing one of the few games that even gives you the option for NPCs to drive in an unscripted path? Are there even any other games that do this? Until you can show me a game that allows NPCs to drive you around more intelligently than Halo 3, this is like complaining because someone gave you a free Gameboy and it only came with Tetris. The alternative is nothing!

All further accusations about the AI, especially with regards to difficulty setting, I refer to this article [http://agamesdesignblog.com/2009/03/09/7-ways-to-make-your-ai-smarter/]:
You can have the most inteligent goal-oriented perfect-pathfinding AI enemies in the world but it doesn't count for anything if the Player is killing them before they get to do any of that clever stuff.

The only difference in Halo between the AI in Easy mode and Legendary mode is that in legendary the AI has more health. This meant they lived longer and as a result did more cool clever things making them appear more inteligent. They were also more accurate and did more damage which supports my previous point.

I don't get why so many people seem to hate Halo 3 and just rant about it...

I thought it was a pretty good game, not the best game ever but it's good fun, especially online.

Honestly, why did you even start this. We get one of these halo bashing threads every single fucking day.

Try to actually contribute something original, for once.

I'm thinking of never using this site other than Yahtzee mainly because almost every forum is either anti-halo, anti-360 or pro-valve, pro-half-life. Just drop it, it's been in discussion millions of times before, no need for another... I find it pathetic people still post these forums.
