I still don't get the harlem shake thing, but I'll contribute the first video I encountered with this whole harlem shake thing.

First Soup, now Shakes? Why do all these crazy food dances come out of Harlem?

The videos aren't that bad.

Meh.. I know it's out there as I visit Youtube, but I really don't even know what it is as I haven't watched any of the videos or anything. Really couldn't care less about this latest fad.

My friend watched these videos for about 2 hours. Each video being only 30 seconds, I'd say he likes it. Catchy and just the right amount of randomness

I find it comical, but this is certainly not a new thing. We were doing stuff like this in the early 90's with home video cameras.

I find them entertaining and funny, though I had no idea they existed until this thread - so thank you for that, OP.
They're good for a bit of light-hearted fun.
Not going to be another killjoy and decry it just to look cool and mature.

I find the whole fad to be pretty lame. Here's the only Harlem Shake video that will ever matter:

My favorite meme of the past five years.

Love the Harlem Shake and I hope the quality of future versions stays high.

The good news is the song they're dancing to is way, way better than "Gangnam Style" -- it's a weird and infectious instrumental put out by Diplo's label Mad Decent
Well, that's debatable. [small]It isn't[/small]

Oh, a thread full of people saying they "don't get" a new fad because it doesn't live up to their own personal choreographic standars, or because the music used is too mainstream bad.

Who would have guessed... and on the escapist of all places.

I just found these vids a few days ago. They gave me a chuckle alright.
I say I don't get it because I don't.

I mean, they're funny, but I'm not even sure what the principle is.

Normal things are happening, one person starts dancing and then it does a jumpcut and everyone is going completely insane? Is that it?

As recent memes go, it's not too bad. It's kind of fun. But the Slenderman one was rather great.

yup, that's basically always the response is always going to be.

I would bet 10 bucks someone is trying to overthink this, and that everyone is clearly not doing it beyond "for lulz"

A friend showed me it at the beginning of the week, i find them funny.

honestly i wouldn't mind a song remix of this:

(it's a metal version)

stupid, random, and it's on youtube.

what's not to love?

Completely and utterly uninterested. I've seen a couple of videos - it's a set of stupid looking dance moves set to some electronic music so I can see why the internet loves it, but I'm just not bothered in the slightest. I assume it'll appear very soon at my local clubs though, so maybe in a month I'll be fed up of it.
