My friend watched these videos for about 2 hours. Each video being only 30 seconds, I'd say he likes it. Catchy and just the right amount of randomness

I find it comical, but this is certainly not a new thing. We were doing stuff like this in the early 90's with home video cameras.

The good news is the song they're dancing to is way, way better than "Gangnam Style" -- it's a weird and infectious instrumental put out by Diplo's label Mad Decent

Oh, a thread full of people saying they "don't get" a new fad because it doesn't live up to their own personal choreographic standars, or because the music used is too mainstream bad.

Who would have guessed... and on the escapist of all places.

I just found these vids a few days ago. They gave me a chuckle alright.

I say I don't get it because I don't.

I mean, they're funny, but I'm not even sure what the principle is.

Normal things are happening, one person starts dancing and then it does a jumpcut and everyone is going completely insane? Is that it?

Completely and utterly uninterested. I've seen a couple of videos - it's a set of stupid looking dance moves set to some electronic music so I can see why the internet loves it, but I'm just not bothered in the slightest. I assume it'll appear very soon at my local clubs though, so maybe in a month I'll be fed up of it.

This video was the first I'd heard of it too, and until this thread showed up I never looked into it. From what I've seen now... Yeah, I don't really get why it's funny. The original military one gave me a chuckle, but any random group of people suddenly dancing doesn't seem like something that'd be entertaining more than a couple of times.

But then I think VideoGameDunkey videos are funny, so I don't really have a right to say what is and isn't comical.
