Let's perform a little experiment!

Fascinating! It turns out that, just because you hate Americans, it isn't any more okay than being a racist, or a homophobe.
This was fun.
Let's not do it again.
This is hilarious! Let us extend this experiment!

Fascinating! It turns out that...wait, what?

Come on, leave the guy alone...

That was just infinitely offensive. I hope Blizz gets SUED UP THE ASS for this!
Serious? You genuinely hope that, because Blizzard included a reference to a totally innocous disease last November, that they should be sued now for... what? Lack of clairvoyance?

And who would do the suing anyway? The swines?

Think before you speak man, reserve the right to be offended by all means but for god's sake, don't spout inane bollocks like that again.

PS. If it turns out you're just joking then I take everything back and wish you good day :)

yah, mother nature is totally last year.
No, meaning that it was there before all the current hoo-hah about it in the news. Kind of like how games or films that have the Twin Towers in them have had them before the towers were destroyed, not that they came up with it or anything.
i know, i was just teasing.

This is a disgrace, not to mention the whole thing being terribly offensive to Blizzard and the WoW community. Think of the inconvenience and distress caused to WoW players the world over by this debuff, and now we have the typically insensitive media sensationalising the whole tragedy with their alarmist reporting.

I hope they're all deeply ashamed.
You may just be my new best friend.

Seriously, I mean, like, wow. Yes, World of Warcraft puts a joke in their game, then a few people in Mexico die from it months later, and Blizzard should feel bad? Yeah, uhh, I hope Blizzard keeps this in. If they don't, then the freedom of designers everywhere is in some serious trouble...

They didnt go too far, but with hundreds of people dying from it, they should really think of removing it.
Please tell me that's sarcasm...
can someone tell me why people are taking this soo far?
it's was put in there to parody something that has been a very little worry in players minds.
if thats the case they should remove swords, hundreds of millions died from that. how about bow & arrows?, maybe Guns hmmm..........?

i'm amazed that people dont know when to draw the line at seriousness.

BLIZZARD SHOULD REMOVE EVERY DISEASE IN THE GAME!

Not technically, as there were out-breaks years ago.
But anyway, this spell has been in since the WotLK beta, before our current problem ever happened.

You know what that means.

From what I read in the paper, the results of this 'world wide epidemic' were ONE death outside Mexico.

So of course the headline in the paper to lead this fact was

'SWINE FLU MAY TOP 1918 DEATH TOLL OF 50 MILLION!'
So, yes its funny, and its funnier that people are flipping out.

I've had flu and sure, it floors you and you ain't getting outta bed for a few days, but damn, its not exactly cancer.

*Waits for FOX News to pin the outbreak on Obama*
I've heard maybe 2 people have died outside of Mexico from the disease, and only about 13 people TOTAL have died so far. Most of them poor Mexicans from Mexico who didn't seek treatment soon enough. Some of them were also very young children, like infants. And they can die from a cold, so yeah, this isn't exactly "pandemic" stuff.

I mean, it's not cool when anyone dies, but this whole thing has been blown WAY out of proportion. Best to ignore the situation until it either becomes an actual problem or goes away.

OH god, wrong topic.

But yeah, that's taking things a little too far.
Good humor, I suppose though. :B

Has Blizzard gone a little too far?
Yes, but not in relation to the Swine Flu de-buff.

It's not insensitive, they didn't go put this in after the Swine flu became a big deal.

The thought of an irate mob of rabid Blizzard fans stops me from expanding on where /how they went too far.
I hope that you're happy overactive imagination.

It's a little insensitive. Not anywhere at all near the point where I would be offended mind you. Only a little insensitive in the sense that I'd look twice and think 'hmm bit wierd'. Not anything earth-shatterring though.

What I want to know is why no one has picked up on this and used it to bash video games yet. This seems like the kind of thing our good fiend Jack Thompson would be all over.
You know he got disbarred, right?

On topic: I think this is a case of life imitating art imitating life. There's no malice involved here, so no need to get out collective panties in a knot about this.

Does anyone actually READ articles or posts? Blizzard put it in-game before any epidemics broke out! This whole thing is a coincidence. Yeah maybe they should quickly rename it in the name of sensitivity, but don't go waving pitchforks and torches at someone for something so stupid. Why does this topic even exist? It's someone who neglected to research properly getting the 'hurrump' over nothing, once again.
