I don't see how it matters so long as Blizzard don't consider it a triviality and don't respect the people who have the disease. I mean it's a disease but really when you consider it WoW is about glorifying war and destruction so it really doesn't seem that bad.
I would just recommend sensitivity, I know I sound like I have a bad case of watching too many debates in the house of commons, but hey occasionally you have to be sensitive.
Apparently this was entered way before swine flu so, no it is definitely not going too far.
