well if she gets pissy with you then you should throw the oven out of the house.

This socially regressive statement was bought to you by, "Crappy Sexist Internet Dude" in connection with "Where's my dinner *****?"
Reading that over I sound like a crazy person.

on Topic, my dodgy Taiwanese Xbox360 has never bricked it, this is the first problem i've had, but its difficult to get a Taiwanese power supply, grrrrr.
Hah!
I think she wants to do that herself...it's crap.

But it was kinda funny, because she warned me about what had happened while I was in college, and when I came home, the thing was sitting on its shelf, nearly destroyed, and still working.
Quite stunning.

Yep. I was playing Gears of War 2 for the first time through the campaign and it froze right after I found Baird. I printed the address thingy off of Microsoft's site, bought a box and bubble-wrap from my local UPS store, then wrapped up my X-Box and sent it on its merry way.

Within 1 month I got it back with a free month of X-Box Live Gold to compensate for the one I essentially lost. It wasn't too bad, but was certainly a nuisance.

Wow, she told you? cool, was she remorseful? or like totally upbeat about your smashed up Xbox?

It just goes to show you regarding crap technology, when you break apart the shell and get to the soft gooey centre and it still works fine because now it can breath, thats good engineering.

My old PC and my current laptop are like that (that i'm using now), the case is open to aid cooling and it works better, although to be fair its not a laptop, its a "desktop replacement"... the manual had a warning saying "do not place this on your lap due to the over heating".

Wooo thanks Tiny for sending me a laptop that can't do what it was supposed to be designed for in the first place.

this is pretty neat look at things, tho no one has mentioned about them taking proper care of the xbox, ie how they had it stored before it died

EDIT

its a Laptop made by a UK company called Tiny, it was bought for my cousin just before they went bust, cost £1200.00 after all the upgrades the non tech heads asked for, and me being the only PC person in the Family they didn't let me touch it for a year.... I found that the upgrades they paid for aren't in the machine.

It uses a desktop AMD athlon, its why it gets so hot, because it was kitted out before AMD got into laptop CPU's which need much lower power consumption and heat output, the battery last for about 12 minutes.

Same thing happened recently with WIFI they bought "no lets not ask Sush because he'll sort it all out and make it easy, instead we will buy whatever the fuck the salesmans tells us and get Sush to spend all fucking day trying to hook it up before telling us "dude, you borked the first rule of networking, never mix and match""

My family has some jealousy issue's because when we did a group IQ test I'm 7 points ahead of the genius in the family. And i'm better looking, and i'm over 6 foot, and BAM GETTING MY EGO ON IS SO GOOD. I'm so hot.

He's 11, and chances are he does not look after it, probably leaves it on and his little brother Lloyd who looks like an angel but is satan incarnate probably threatens it alot.

But I don't think verbal abuse ever killed an Xbox.

didn't buy another one for like a year after mine RR because I didn't want it to do it again.

I blame Eternal Sonata.

My original got it after buying first Saints Row. My second broke after a while. I now depend solely on my Playstation. My sister can have my 360.

My Xbox's death at least seems to be somewhat original. While playing Cod4 online the screen suddenly went distorted, the best description I can give is "all purple and yellow with squiggly bits..."

After trying various different scart cables and sockets in my tv I reckon it must be a problem with the sender inside the console. It's been broken for months but due to my own laziness, fear of call-centres (especially the non-brittish based variety) and the fact that I am pretty sure it won't be under warranty anymore (it being second hand and years old) I have not done anything about it.

Also the fact that recent Xbox releases have been rather un-inspiring hasn't helped motivate me...

So many times I gave up on and hocked it after towel methoding it a bajillion times.

Xbox 360 - Jump In! (And don't forget to bring a towel.)

Not saying it's a bad system though. What I had of it, was awesome.
Loved Bioshock back when it was exclusive, and Lost Odyssey was great.
