Well, since getting into the show (and subsequently the fandom), I've actually increased my efforts to understand people.
I'm not so short with opinions or as bias as I used to be on certain topics. I'm more willing to look at things that are abnormal and not react with disgust or bewilderment, but with intrigue and sympathy.
Now, this isn't all just from "happy ponies doing happy things and loving friendship," it's from the unexpected turn about of this fandom and my own interest in the actual show, it all really made me think about the concept of perception.
In the end, I feel I've become a much less judgmental person. I'd much rather understand something and the reasons behind it rather than mock it out of my own ignorance.
