I was at CostCo yesterday and left my cart to go get something down the aisle since it was packed with people and when I came back it gone! I just laughed. I mean, what are the chances someone needs the exact things you had in your cart? That's like one of those things in life that is so inexplicable you can't do anything BUT laugh.

Has that ever happened to you? And I'm not talking about someone stealing things out of your cart, I mean literally stealing your ENTIRE cart. Hahaha

Edit: evidently the Escapist servers double posted AND consumed my poll into the fiery Internet void never to be seen again. So my apologies if you came here excited to click on stuff.

Costco FTW.
I love that store.

OT: Never, actually, but I'm always paranoid that someone will come and steal my cart if I leave it, so I try to stay as close to it as possible.

This reminds me of the show Bob and Margaret. Cause this happened right in front of Margaret at the supermarket. I think it was in the earlier season before they move to Canada. Not that many people here would know of the show.

Never happened to me since I don't need to shop as of yet.

That's freakin' hilarious.
And now I'm going to be even more paranoid when leaving my cart unsupervised!

I get really paranoid about it as well. But there's no point, the worst case scenario is that you're inconvenienced and have to go and pick everything up again.

OT: I have not had this occur to me. Although I did once accidentally walk off with someone else's trolley, thinking it was my own. By the time I realised I had walked too far, so I just sutck with it and put back whatever I didn't need. Obviously the owners of the one I walked off with were welcome to hang onto mine.

Yeah, I should probably stop installing autoturrets on the big flatbed carts at CostCo....

At first I assumed that was what happened, but there was not another empty one for me to pick up! Hahaha

Yes, once while shopping at a dollar mart and recently at a grocery store I WORK AT. Why would somebody steal a cart full of expired bread, for the lulz? Found it abandoned at the other side of the store.

Damn kids.

no but i remember an old lady stalking me because i took the last carton of eggs and she tried to take it from my cart. My friend saw her take it while i had my back turned and he got seriously mad when the store personnel acted like it was our fault.

No, but I watched my grandma steal one from some other man. He was in the middle of paying for his groceries and she took the cart while his head was turned. He turned back and was very confused. I felt bad for him, cuz he had a lot of bags. I was so embarassed, I got him another cart.

No, what would someone want with a shopping cart full of things they don't want and still have to play for?

Nope, but I saved some old guy's shopping cart once when he left it on a bit of a slope and it started rolling towards the road. He ran out of the shop he was in, grabbed it away from me and yelled at me. Guess he thought I was trying to take it.

You get it back once you return the trolley.

I'm going to go around moving peoples trolleys to different isles. I'll leave a note near them saying if you want your trolley alive bring a bag of wotsits to the frozen goods isle.... come alone.

Just throwing this out there, but it might not have been stolen. I used to work in a dollar store, and people would abandon their carts and leave the store all the time. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding, and an employee went to put the items back.

I was only gone for like 30 seconds. I suppose it's possible though. That doesn't make it anynless funny.
