Agreed wholeheartedly. Funnily enough, the one I actually go to is actually considered peaceful around here. Self defence only though, and it always hurts like a ***** afterwards unless I hit them in the stomach or throat. Especially if you go for a throat punch and they bring their chin down on it. Either way you're knocking them on their arse, but you'll push a knuckle out of place doing it.
It's actually pleasing winning a fight that someone else started with you, surprisingly. That always worried me slightly.
You need to find better (less chav filled) pubs.
