Yeah, I have. I prefer just being a tad more provocative to really get a thread going though. Some might call that trolling, but I do tend to actually join the argument though. Just in a way that sharpens people up a bit. I do it a lot more in real life though, because, well, you know. Internet discussions.

Heh. Where did you think the "King" in my name came from? Back in my glory days, I was a troller -we called 'em spammers- on quite a few forums. Got a reputation, I did. Until those forums sold out to Viacom. *sigh*

Anyone who says no is lying.
This is a fallacy. Some people here are actually kind and decent. To denounce them automatically is practically a sin. Take me, for example. I'm calling you out on this, but I'm not being an ass about it. I do ask, though, that you try to be a little more understanding. Some of us really don't troll, for reasons of 'it disgusts us'. That's how I feel, anyway.

As for me, I chose "It's against my religion.", because I just find that funny as hell.

I've never really been in for that sort of thing ... it's a massive waste of time and there's better ways to have fun. Plus I'm real bad at it.

But I did blow a few hours a couple years back joining in with the *chan Habbo raids. Something like that is just far too big and stupid a target not to tag along and have a chuckle over. So many kids and weak minded folks treating it like SRS BZNZ when it's just an ugly, money sapping graphical chatroom.

Probably not proper trolling, but eh.

Hell yeah. I always find it amusing how frequently people take me seriously when I'm trolling. Did no one ever consider the possibility that I'm a dirty liar? Of course, maybe the people I'm trolling actually know I'm a troll and are trolling me back. But probably not.

Most recently I made an inappropriately named character on the ftp mmo Requiem: Memento Mori. I spent most of my time hitting on female avatars (most of whom we're men, I'm sure). By hitting on, I mean that I kept asking to fondle their chests. Then I joined a guild and, judging by their inability to spell their own name correctly, spent some time trying to guess what sorts of hobbies n00bs like them would enjoy and then writing about them. Apparently I'm into rap and street racing. Then I go afk in theme pvp battles, but not really because instead of fighting I spend my time sitting on my butt and typing "hurry up and win, u nubs" into the party chat. Then when I finish pvp I tell my guild how I pwned everyone.

Basically the total opposite of me in every way, but I was amazed at how well I pegged them. My trolling is nothing, however, compared to my 32-year-old brother who also joined that guild as a 15-year-old girl who says things like "me too scared to fight" to get dudes to level him while he goes afk.

Usually trolling is too much work, though, so I have to be in a special kind of mood to do it. The internet does a good job of trolling itself anyway.

There are many more intellectual benefits to trolling than you think.
No, sir. No there aren't.

OP: No. I honestly don't see the appeal of making someone else feel bad. Call me crazy.

I troll. But never on this site. I much prefer trolling in places that I don't like.
I troll a lot in real life at school too. But nothing too excessive.

People associate Anonymous with trolling far too regularly =P

I have, everyone will at some point generally, whether they mean to or not. Even being good at certain video games could constitute to minor/moderate trolling

Indeed, I've trolled.

I believe everyone should do it for a short amount of time if not to simply develop their own ability to detect a troll.

Trolling is a art.

Excuse me?
I have learned so much about the subtle art of winning arguments by trolling, as long as you're not trolling... There's no winning to trolling, as that's not the objective, but you can learn some good 'ol skills. Not too much, but it's better than nothing.
