I agree with the all hacks shouldn't be used in any games but in some games glitches really elevated the skill ceiling and overall improved the competitiveness of said game.
Thats a rare thing. Getting out of the map in Halo 3 was for the most part harmless, if anybody noticed you then you were screwed and you had a limited supply of ammo. If that wasn't enough the majority of useful glitches could only be performed in Forge, where nobody is affected other than you.
Halo 2 had the BXR glitch which made the BR much more deadly at close range. I never felt that it broke the balance of the game tho.

Halo 3's multiplayer had, I think, all of the Halo2 glitches cleaned out.

Anything that gives a clear edge in combat and is not intended is wrong to use, but things that are more trouble than they are worth are not so bad.

Context also matters, if the other team is using the BR glitch then its not as bad to do it yourself. However my example of getting out of maps instantly becomes very bad when the game is oddball, VIP or infection.

Mainly my option about glitches is if it breaks the game or is completely unfair then it shouldn't be used also should be patched out of the game. Littler glitches like BXR I see as fair game because at higher skill levels you need to use every tool/advantage to come out on top.

It's another one of those casual players looking to have fun by just playing the game vs. the more competitive gamer that has fun by winning.

My thought is: if you have such a need to win at a game, but are frustrated to the point where you need to use hax and such to win, you should turn off your console/PC and walk outside.

Look at the sun, the hills, the nature.
Enjoy its warmth, balanced with the coolness of the wind.
Listen to the trees, the sounds of birds.

And realise there are more important things than having the highest KDR.
