Thats laughable, considering 24 is now on its 8th season, whereas LOST has been confirmed as ending after season 6, something confirmed during season 3.fix-the-spade said:24 (the first series at least) was great in this respect as you knew regardless that everything would be over in 24 episodes and that would be that, no staring into the infinite bollocks.
Honestly I think its quite different to lost in narrative style. Rather than there being no end in sight, they've a lot of endings, each season they set up a goal or two and then achieve it:fix-the-spade said:It suffers horribly from the same lack of direction that Lost has, the writers are just coming up with ever more contrived problems to solve and there's no 'end' in sight until an equally contrived plot point is reached (specifically, viewer numbers drop) and suddenly an end game begins that could have been written in at any point in the last x years.
I agree almost completely with this, except that I don't think Season 2 was as bad as people say it was. Fine, it did go downhill a bit, it sure wasn't as good as Season 1, but Season 2 was still pretty damn epic and I still loved it. Volume 3 was a bit better, it showed they were getting back on form, and then Volume 4 was just amazing. I like how it isn't becoming too comic book-esque in that you can still understand the story without knowing all the back details (like, if you read a Marvel or DC comic you usually can't understand unless you trawl through decades of comics that give a massive background to characters and events, which is boring to me). However, as I say, Volume 4 was just brilliant. Agreed, the characters are reverting in a way back to what made them great, but in addition, they still have the personality quirks and so on that they developed through the other seasons which makes them each more deep and complex. For example, back in Season 1, Hiro was just a quirky geek who found he had this power and decided to do some good. Now, he's still like that, but he also has more reason and motive for doing what he does thanks to the whole story with his dad and Primatech. Plus, his new friendly rivalry with Ando adds another layer to his character. And it's things like that which help keep the show great.Wilfy said:Season 1 was incredible.
Season 2 went downhill a bit, but picked up at the end of the final episode.
Season 3 was split into 2 parts, with the second being much better than the first as some of the characters reverted to what they were like in the first season.
This is all my opinion though, you might think totally different.
Genius summary there, totally agreeWilfy said:Season 1 was incredible.

Pretty much this. I just didn't like the fact that they decided that everyone should have a power for some strange reasons.Wilfy said:Season 1 was incredible.
