I was at a... shall we say... social event recently, and the amount of girls falling over when they were just walking in the damn things... Fighting? Running? No way. If the villain is as slow as a snail, has no arms to defend themselves with, and is only susceptible to stiletto through the heart? Maybe.

I hate high heels, I hate everything about them.

They are not sexy, they are not cool, they are just awkward and a dumb cultural piece of shoe fashion that for some reason just won't die.

I mean the extra couple of inches added to women's hight just doesn't seem worth it and to be honest the thought of a girl I admire either sexually, intellectually, or on a heroic level or on any level, I don't like the idea of her being hobbled by retarded shoe design.

It is physically impossible to run in them, it is painful to merely stand in them. It is one of those things about live that I just freaking hate.

High Heels should be banned.

PS: you can still run and fight in a cape.

Really, though, I'm suprised that no one's pointed out that excessive use of high heels is actually damaging to the foot- a reason I go with smaller heels when possible. Still, there's something impractically awesome about stilettos, even though I'll never be able to wear them with my flat feet... ;-;

Put simply: spike through the temple is a great way to put down a bad guy. So despite the apparent discomfort they'd afford as was covered about half a year ago in Smallville, I would definitely wear murder boots if I were a chick and also a slut and also had super powers.

Hey, with all the gadgets that make the superhero/superspy world go 'round, why can't they make a high heel that is comfortable, practical, and silent? It's not that big of a stretch! (and they're really not that uncomfortable)

Maybe if high-heels had groves to keep your foot from slipping they would work, and your toes would be out of the shoe, so you're actually walking on them. Might not look to good though.

I would lOVE to wear high heels, but there's only one thing stopping me.
I once jumped down a set of stairs in high heels and landed straight on them, and pulled a muscle in my foot. I walked funny for months. One cool moment is not worth that kind of pain.
Of course, I still wear heels. But I save them for nice occasions and try not to wear them for looooong periods. So if I'm a heroine, my super deeds better happen quickly. lol
