Don't. There is a reason you broke up in the first place, and soon enough you will realize it again, and just have to go back through it all again. Also, it lasted a month. If you couldn't make it a month with her the first time, it's just not worth it.

By all means take pride in your Army Cadets club by paying attention, trying your best and making the most of what they can teach you (and as a side-line, I'm genuinely pleased for you if youv'e found something you love to do in your free time). Just try to avoid the over-compensating machismo effect some of these clubs can have. You'll only cringe about it when you're older.
Get on with the tasks put in front of you to develop useful skills and discipline and let that be it's own reward. Peope respect do'ers not talkers. Leave the wannabe showboating to the wannabe's.
(P.s. low-blowing your friend because they outwitted you in some banter does not count as doing. It counts as being an emotionally stunted child. Just laugh it off)
Oh also: 'Hardasses' aren't real, it's just a name used to describe one of two type of people: There are excessively destructive people, who will sacrifice literally everything. possibly including their's and their families' lives just to be aggressive, confrontational and destructive because they think it represents power and accomplishment (Charles Bronson likely fits this category. He wasted a lot of time in solitary). Basically a rebel without a cause (which is exactly that i.e. pointless). Then there are people who are incredibly determined to accomplish something because it is important to them for specific reasons. The SAS (I'm more familiar with British military) likely fit this description. I recommend you try to direct yourself to the latter. It's much more rewarding, you probably won't wind up in prison for it, you'll lose any need to keep up an image because you'll gain genuine confidence and it might even make you some money!
Having a hard time picturing someone who calls himself a military badass and also play warhammer 40k. With military hardass do you refer to your ruthless military victories in Warhammer 40k? Becouse i can totaly see how that would scare a woman away.

So why is 'military' associated with being an arse? I thought the point was to protect and serve, put yourself between the country/people you care about and those who are a threat to their safety.
