It can be good, and there are some great images there, but overall, its crap. You gotta sift through alot... And its also generally a giant popularity contest. Good luck getting your art seen if its not fanart, or if its not worksafe. Even marking something normal with a "Not safe for work" thing will get it tons of views... even if its a photo of your refrigerator.

The only thing I know about deviantart is that it is a go to place for fetish anime drawings. I am ok with this, even if this point of view which is (I am certain as I can be while knowing near anything about it) a total concentration on a single aspect of a wider community.

I see this particular aspect as funny more than anything, if people want to rule 34 something then go nuts, I don't care, I don't see that it affects me in anyway. Explain to me a way that it should in a positive or negative way affect me and I'll give an opinion, until then I don't have one because I'm just not interested.

Considering I have an account (that I haven't updated in a long time, even though I have more pictures that could be considered mediocre enough to live up to my standards), I will have to say I like it. I also have all sorts of things on there I use, like my custom Vista theme, taskbar resizer and more. It's a great place for creativity.

I agree with pretty much everything this poster said. I also have an account, and think my 'work' is absolutely attrocious.

I like it a lot. I follow a few people (mostly friends) and have a couple followers. It's great to get even a little recognition for your work, and the community seems to be really polite for the most part.

I really like DeviantArt. I've gotten a lot more publicity of my art on there than if I had my own site. And it allows me to seek out critiques on my stuff easier.

I check Deviant Art every once in a while. It has some great Star Wars fan art on it. Yes, indeed, there's occasional nudity in quite a lot of the artwork on the site, but it doesn't go into pure pornography like Aeris Dies Static Gallery that depicts actual sex. Deviant Art has it's downs, but it does have great artwork in it if you know where to look.

I like to throw my art up, but there's a distinct lack of maturity (and way too much porn, in my opinion art and porn don't mix). I realize some erotica is art, but when someone takes a masturbation photo with a grainy cellphone camera, it's not art to me.

I have two accounts there. One for drawings, short stories and photos and, one for perverted drawings, short stories and...well, no photos yet. That would just be strange. I've had 17,000+ hits over both pages which is pretty sweet ^^

I don't really ever go to it, but I have been linked to some of the quality pieces on that side and ahve been impressed. However, I have also been sent porno-ish pictures from that site as well, which makes me less inclined to take an interest in that site. At present, I don't realyl go there. It's just one of those places on the net I don't check out for varied reasons.
