I find medium-medium well is cooked enough to avoid most illness, and yet tasty enough to be edible.

Seasoning salt helps too.

I'm the only one that voted "rare" so far? That's amazing.

A real man eats his steak bloody, people!

Oh, the juices that just run down your cheeks, when you bite the delicious rare steak! It's amazing!
I'll eat it rare, but I prefer Medium rare

Brilliant topic. I like mine medium well. A little pink on the inside, but don't let the cook leave it on for too long, or risk getting an over cooked steak.

I actually like medium most, but I always order medium rare since almost every restaurant will overcook it.

To me the perfect dish is a Ribeye served medium with a side of fries and mashed potatoes that soak up the juices so well. No steak sauce, hell no salt! Just the natural flavor of the steak should be enough. Am I right folks?

Whimpering and quivering on the plate.
That sounds absolutely delicious!
What animal are we talking here?
Roadkill Possum. Possum is good eatin', yessir.
When speaking of roadkill, I like the rabbit ones better. Tastes a lot like chicken!

Prefferably not cooked at all, just picked up, and dinner's ready!
OOOeee! You sound like my kind of chef, yessum. Tell me when and where and I'll bring some hedgehog stew, along with mah wife whos also mah sistah.

I like mine nearly raw but only when I make it myself. When I go out I order rare because I don't trust the restaurant people to make it right. I also enjoy it with a side of mashed potatoes and a little corn.

Thats the way to do it, although i love steak any way that its done, rare is the best but more often i'll eat it medium because my family will protest otherwise.

with some pepper sauce some chips/fries and a token piece of green (peas mostly).

that is heaven

Medium rare: cooked enough to have some texture and not give me salmonella, not enough to damage the juicy flavor a steak should have.

Baked potato imo.
Really, just any form of a potato goes well with steak.
Truth. Not really fries though.
Actually it depends on how much juice they soak up, I always love having fries with my steak when they soak up so much of the goodness. The way the fries are cut also factors in as well as the cut of the steak.

Also has anyone had whipped garlic butter on their steak, its actually not that bad, pretty damn good even.
