that we're not on the metric system yet,
To be fair, that's actually important. The system we use sucks balls, not even just compared to the metric system. A base ten system is a lot more convenient than our 1 inch, 12 inch=foot, 3 feet=yard, 5280 feet=mile watafak system. Also, the system is a lot more handy for sciences needing measurements, so there's that.
Still we're working on it, it's not like we aren't doing anything about it. Yet every few weeks a thread inevitably pops up with someone pissing and moaning about the US "refusing" to switch to the metric system, and how they think we're just being lazy. (or some other BS argument that amounts to insulting the intelligence of the population) The differences in the system are not lost on me, but being insulted for using one over the other baffles me. Especially since we had zero control over which system we were conditioned to use when growing up.

I'm just kinda sick of it. No I don't read the threads typically, but I already know that most of the posts will include that same infuriating mentality. It's an attitude that simply shouldn't have a place to fester on our forums. I don't say that because it's people bashing the US, I say it because I take issue with the illogical prejudice in general, especially since it comes from a community that has a history of being rather accepting of cultural diversity. Yes, I'll go so far as to so that it's allowed to happen because right now it's "cool" to dislike the US, the same way it's "cool" to go around disliking a popular game based purely on hearsay. The latter is less troubling than the former, but the same close minded/prejudice mentality seems to be at work.

I voted other because I'm Finnish and we say it "zeta." Though when I'm speaking in English, like spelling something, I pronounce it "zed."

I switch, since I learned to pronounce it "zed" in school (Germany), and then, in popular culture they pronounced it "Zee..." I remember being pretty confused about the "U Ay Zees" in Operation Flashpoint back in the day. That's how I found out about that.

The way America pronounces it, "zee", but I think "zed" is how most of the world pronounces it.

Zee. Like in Zebra. I'm American so no surprise there.

"Zed", typically, although I occasionally find myself saying "zee" instead.

When saying it as the letter, zed.
But when it's as part of a name, (Tenchu Z, Dragonball Z etc) I say zee.

Let's face it Dragonball zed sounds shit.

Threads like this make me dislike people. Not lost faith in humanity, that's dumb. But honestly dislike people. I pronounce something THIS way and anyone who doesn't is stupid.

Zee

But I say Zed when talking to Brits, Aussies or Indians to demonstrate my atypical (for an American) sensitivity to other cultures (I know, please hold the applause). Plus Zed just sounds cooler. I also write my Z's with a bar through the middle because it looks cool and I'm just that pretentious.

"Zed"? Seriously? Wow.

The first letter of my name starts with "Z". Zach. How am I supposed to pronounce my own name if I pronounced the letter "z" as "zed"?!

Needless to say, I pronounce the letter "z" as "zee". You know, the way it is supposed to be pronounced here in America.

Zee. English is not my first language, I sort of assimilated the majority of what I know from games, movies and tv shows... full of american english. So there.
