I actually use a rusty spoon and grease. Then I rinse off with boiling t-rex urine for that pine tree smell.

With the electric shaver I got as a present from my dad 10 years ago. I've tried razors for a while, but electric shaving just feels more pleasant to me.

I just use a normal razor. I don't use any kind of gel or foam though, because I'm lazy like that.

You must get awful razor rash.
It's not terrible, to be honest. You get used to using the right amount of pressure and so on.

I also shave with a straight razor, best shave ever.
i actually prefer it to be slightly, as in: barely, curved
i'm all thumbs, and a juuust slightly convex blade feels (is?) safer to use ^^

but i also have a straight razor. great for cheeks, and when my hands actually are still ;)

I never have it all completely off and my Electric Shaver comes with a sort of length adjuster, it's easier than cutting it with scissors I guess.

I use a three blade razor. I tried using an electric razor, and I don't know if it was just dull out of the box, but it felt like it was pulling the hairs out rather than cutting them. I tried it three times and I got a rash each time, so I stick with blades. I'd highly suggest the mach-3, I've been shaving both my beard, and head with them for eight years, and aside from a few scalp nicks early on they work very well. It's a nice smooth cut, and no irritation. Thinking about it, maybe I should go back to the Lenin look.

Nobody styles like Lenin.
I did this once as a joke in work since the guidelines on facial hair for the kitchen are kind of vague I figured I'd have a laugh with my facial hair as I'd keep to a non piss taking and hygienic level it'd be gone after a week. I have done the Lenin, the creeper 'stache, the Freddie Mercury and a few others.

Electric, every couple months or so. I keep a beard that I tend to cut down a couple weeks after it reaches caveman status.

Regular razor, if I'm feeling fancy I'll go and get a straight shave (they're awesome btw). When I got here I thought it was going to be a back-to-front or front-to-back thread and I actually wanted to know that... Oh well.

Electric - it's just easy and quick. Means it's weekly and you get bits of irritation/spots though

I don't shave too often, so I haven't bothered to buy a proper razor or machine.
I just use some razor blades that I have lying around.
This kind:

I don't use any handle or anything; I just hold it in my hand.
I don't use any shaving cream or gel either.

My sister did just get me one of those Gilette fusion vibrating razor things for my birthday yesterday though, so I guess I'll be using that now.

I might buy a straight razor at some point though.

I shave with a straight razor, badger hair brush and shaving soap.

I also use mustache wax in order to get a really good handlebar.

At the moment, I'm using a disposable straight razor, because I need to get my regular straight razor professionally sharpened.

Anyhow, straight razor gives me the best shave, reduces razor bumps, and is a *lot* cheaper in the long run that safety razors. It also allows me precision for my facial hair and sideburns...which are sort of detailed.

^I got one of those^
...as an advertising-promotional-gift-thing on my 18th birthday, back when they were a brand new thing. I still use the very same handle, it's been to 8 countries and back with me in the last 12 years.

...if I'm taking off a long beard, though, I take it down to a manageable level with a beard trimmer first.
