if you put serifs on your I's, but not any other letters, it looks weird.

Do you write it with the line on the top and bottom?
Or do you write it like a lower case "L"

I write it with the line on the top and bottom.
They're called "serifs" by the way. And I always use them for "I"s.

I usually do it like a lower case 'l', but sometime I do it differently if I need it to look different from a 1... this does come up a lot due to the course I'm doing.

Shift + i

Can't believe I wasn't ninjaed on that one!

I think I use both ways though. I don't write that often so my handwriting is always different. w

I write my "1"s as a vertical line, as well as my "I"s usually. I do, though, use the other type of "I" when I feel I need to make them more distinct.

Used to be with a line on top and bottom every day, but lately it's been just a straight line in the appropriate space to save time.

Not a lower case L, that also has a tail.
In sentences I use a straight line, in equations I use the ones with bars at either end to void confusing with number one

My regular I is just a single dash, but my 'handwriting' I (which I seldom use, because my handwriting is horrible) is a twisted swirly thing.
