I am 6' 2" and 210. I life weights so that is good for me.

And screw the BMI index. It is all messed up. By the BMI Arnold Schwarzenegger is fat and over weight. Do not trust it.

I'm 5'8 and 139 pounds and not much is muscle...I owe my fat not to junk food but to a milk addiction. When I was little, I thought milk was x10 as beneficiary as water, and drank 2% to access, to the point where I'd have half a gallon a night.
Milk is actually one of the best sources of protein when lifting weights. If you drink a lot of milk just start lifting some weights. Milk puts pounds on the muscle FAST.
apparently low fat chocolate milk is good aswelll cos it has more calories and it tastes pretty good too....

That is defiantly true. Drinking after a weight lifting season is actually better then drinking things like Gatorade.

The website says I have a bmi of 25.1, so I guess Im over weight, but I'm at the gym 3 times a week, and run 2 miles in less than 14min. So its more muscle mass than fat.

yeah, BMI only really works for sedentary or lazy people. Once you start weight training and putting on hard muscle, using BMI to calculate how "right" you are is going to give you wonky numbers.

5'8" and, oh... 150 lbs, but this is my "happy weight." I swim three times a week, I walk three miles a day, easy, but I'm not gonna tell myself not to eat that muffin if I want it. I'm pretty happy with myself, and so what if I can't really wear those skinny jeans? They're stupid looking.

My b/f is 5'10 and 290. He used to be a lineman, and he's just big. In fact, when he was in the best shape of his life (senior year football), he was still the same size, more or less, that he is now. His legs and arms are RIPPED, though. I mean, and his shoulders... dear Lord. So some people are just naturally inclined to be bigger, and BMI is a piece of crud. There's a difference between the kid on the couch, eating nothing but hot pockets and cheesy poofs, and the kid who weighs the same but has 3-a-days for football, six days a week.

*pokes at fat dispiritedly*
Yeah, I've been telling myself that I'll lose weight for around about six years now.
I did actually lose half a stone over three weeks, but I was desperately unhappy and crying myself to sleep. (I'm female, it's alright for me to cry.)

*If you're not British then Banksy is a grafitti artist, look him up. XP

BMI is a flawed measure of someone's fitness. It only works for adults in a fairly normal body weight range.

Better is the use of body comp. tests.
Unfortunately, you cannot fill out a questionair and display your body.

I've already read in this thread individuals who have claimed to be healthy but get poor scores on BMI.

My work nickname is Lanky! I'm on the healthy/underweight cusp, which I think is nonsense because I have bingo arms *flaps 'em around a bit* Also remember that BMI does not take build or muscle mass into account and so is not an entirely accurate method of assessment.

I like the term lean, sounds more sporty than thin.

We should start a club, man. It's be full of thin, handsome looking guys who're gonna enter their thirties and be bloody suprised at the gut they just got, and all we'd need to do is just stand around and look smug.

Who's in?

I'm not sure what the line is exactly for normal weight. I'm somewhere between normal and underweight I guess.

I think it was Louie Anderson who said,
When a little kid looks at you and says, "Gee, you're fat!" then you gotta face it, you're fat.
In my case, I've got a Wii Fit, and every morning it says to me, "You're obese!" Thanks, I love you too. But the good news is, I'm getting thinner!

I'd say I'm about the 'beanpole' range. Just imagine a 6'4" guy who weighs 170 pounds.
Whoa. We have the same height/weight. Then again, I hardly ever eat junk food and I do running and kickboxing. I do need to hit the weights, though.
Ha i'm 6'3 140(lbs) but it's not unhealthy skinny just genetic i think because I eat all the time today I had
Entire box of double stuff oreos with 2 glasses of milk, footlong sub from subway, bowl of lucky charms, bowl of icecream, two peperoni/turkey/ham sandwiches, 3 packages of doritos crackers and on the way to chili's for some monterey chicken, sweet tea, and veggies :)
so I don't understand why I'm as lean as i am
