Exactly $0. Never bought anything extra for a game after purchasing a copy. And I'm not counting GOTY editions as "buying DLC" since I've never spent more than I would on a non-GOTY copy.

If items bought in Free to play games count I'm what you would call a whale. Although in my defense there was a glitch that let you buy the currency in the need for speed MMO at a tenth of the price so I bought a shit ton.

I haven't really kept track, but I'd have to guess that I've spent somewhere around 150 to 250 dollars.

Way more than the poll allows.

I have around 400 purchased items on the Playstation store, the vast majority of which are DLC.

About £100,

I don't buy all dlc, and I'm getting picker, but I have bought all the dlc for Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood, Mass Effect 2 and 3, Dragon Age II, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, Saints Row 2, 3 and 4 and other bits n pieces.

Some have been great and added alot to the story (Mass Effect and New Vegas) Some have been silly but great fun (Saints Row 3) and some have sucked so badly (Saints Row 4 and Omega for Mass Effect 3) But mostly I'm happy with my purchases and will continue to buy dlc if I want it.

Not counting stuff that came with GOTY editions, which is usually the only way I'll buy a AAA game. I bought some of the DLC for Mass Effect 2 (Shadow Broker REALLY should have been in the game already) and some skins and new classes for Killing Floor and Dungeon Defenders respectively. Mostly just because I liked the games and wanted to support the devs in the case of the latter two. So probably uhh, somewhere between $15 - $30.

I've only bought Shivering Isles for Oblivion, Heart of Darkness for Victoria 2, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Kasumi for Mass Effect 2 and Awakenings for Dragon Age Origins.

I'm about 75% unsatisfied between all of those purchases, and probably will never buy DLC again (I did really, really like both Awakenings and Shivering Isles, but I don't trust Bethesda or Bioware any more)

20-50, though I completely forgot abut Rock Band when I voted. Whoops. Probably one of the top 2 with that.

A few odd cases too, like whether you consider Blood Dragon DLC, or Dark Arisen.

Rock Band aside, mostly the expansion pack style DLC. I can't really see paying money for what in the old days would have been minor customization options, or what boils down to minor cheat codes. Double that when its stupid crap like putting Snake's headband on the Castlevania character (a particular example of me wondering who buys these things)

Just over one hundred NZD, I try not to get dlc if it can be helped. On the xbox its console locked and Microsoft are real jerks about transferring permissions. I tend to wait for game of the year editions and get it all on disk.

1-20.

Bought the 2 DLCs for Civ5 with additional nations. I'm not talking about the expansions though, since i don't count expansions as dlc's.

DLCs are never worth it for me. A fracture of a fracture of added content for 5-20 bucks? When i can get 2 complete and great indie games for the same price?
Eh, no.
DLCs are highly overpriced, if people are willing to pay for it - go for it. I won't.

The only DLC I remember buying is all the stuff for Borderlands 2. I only bought that because it was 75% off. Have to say I did really enjoy it though. Money well spent.

I'm not against the idea of extra storylines/characters/level caps, as long as they are EXTRA, as in, on top of a full-length game. I don't usually buy them because by the time I finish a game I've usually had enough. I will never buy costume packs or participate in pay-to-win.

Zero... because it was all free, baby!

But honestly, I don't "buy" DLC that's higher than $0.00... and every DLC I do end up obtaining was either from some GOTY edition and/or is labeled as "free" on PSN, which we all know does not count anyway...

So, yeah... 0 [insert money denomination here] for me...

Come to think of it, a little less than 100. When it comes down to it, it depends on the type if something is good. I haven't bought a single map pack since Call of Duty: WaW. Expansion packs and Strategy/RPG add-ons are a different story.

In all honesty, the only DLC I've actually gotten my money's worth is for the two modern Fallouts, Crusader Kings 2, and maybe some Bioware ones like LotSB and Awakening. Now that it's a day and age of GOTY editions being cheap on Steam and Origin, I've become little more patient (Just a shame EA is still being stingy about including ME2/3 DLC).

Admittedly, I think Persona 4 Ultimax's DLC will be worth the buy, if only for Adachi.

Skyrim, all three $13 + $5 + $10 = $28 worth it
Heart of the Swarm $40 because Starcraft 2 worth it
State of Decay Breakdown $5 not really, but at least I don't have to play that scripted "protagonist".
Shadowrun Deluxe $4 worth it
Saints Row 4 SP $5 not really, not enough content for $5.
DAO Awakening $10 worth it

$92.

I've only purchased the "Left Behind" DLC for The Last of Us, "Burial at Sea" DLC for Bioshock Infinite and the "Epilogue" DLC for Prince of Persia. So probably around $50 and I don't feel like any of them were poor purchasing decisions.

Over the entire multi-year time span of the last generation?

Certainly less than $50, I am sure. It is difficult to remember all the purchases but in general I make a point not to buy DLC.

BUT there are times when I do. I put 1000 hours into Dawn of War 2: Retribution, is it going to bother me to drop $10 to buy some chapter skins and support the game I spent so much time playing? Not at all.

But spend $10 for an on disc DLC for Mass Effect 3 to unlock a character that by all rights should have been in the game to begin with and is kinda super important to the whole thing? Not a chance. Even if i miss out on a ton of good stuff, not a chance. Screw those guys that is Evil.

That being said I am pleasantly surprised how many people say they don't make a habit out of buying DLC.

I mean its an online poll and only a small demographic of the whole gaming population is represented and they are probably biased against DLC to begin with but hey! Feels good anyway.

Not a lot. I bought 3 of the four DLC for Borderlands, so $30 there. Arrival cost $7. The rest of the DLC for ME2 came with the disk. I bought all the DLC for ME3, so that's $10 for From Ashes and $15 for the other three; $55 overall. I think that's it. Now that I've replayed Bioshock: Infinite I will have to get Burial at Sea. So, around $100.
