I came to The Escapist for Zero Punctuation quite some time ago, and I still watch each one within a few days of it coming out. I used to wait religiously for each one to be released, but I haven't done that for something on The Escapist for a long time.
One of the only reasons I still keep coming here is a Forum RP I'm part of which has been going for over 3 years now. Between that, Zero Punctuation, and occasionally checking Critical Miss that's all I do nowadays.
I remember a few years ago when The Escapist was a bustling hub of genuinely excellent content. Zero Punctuation, Extra Credits, Miracle of Sound, The Big Picture, and Escape to the Movies were all shows I regularly came to watch. The benefit of having so many good shows was their presenters could collaborate on columns and help each other out, it was fantastic. Then there was that thing with Extra Credits, then The Jimquisition came in and all was good again. I especially liked the Rhymedown Spectacular with Jim and Yahtzee, that was an ace example of different content creators collaborating.
Each person had a show or two, each show came with a column, sometimes they interacted with each other. The Escapist was like a bustling theme park with a number of signature rides, there was new stuff every day. Unfortunately one by one many of the content creators have moved away for one reason or another. Gav, Bob, and Jim have all gone and taken their shows with them. Now The Escapist feels like the aforementioned theme park but with most of the big rides gone and not really replaced, but the faithful old Big Dipper is still around and still draws the crowds, even if they don't come in quite a number as they did before.
