Thief is LIKE an FPS...Kpt._Rob said:If stealth is done right, I really enjoy it. I would say a game like Arkham Asylum did stealth just right. But most games can't get it right (even if it's their focus), and it just ends up being shitty. I'm looking at you Assassin's Creed. And I can't think of a single FPS where I thought the stealth sections worked really well.
Nice freudian slip with the "snaking around"Souplex said:What is your stance on stealth in games? I personally hate snaking around.
Me too. I legged it through that Arkham Asylum demo swinging my arms like an ADHD child on crack.Souplex said:What is your stance on stealth in games? I personally hate snaking around.
that's a snazy idea, of course the flashlight could be replaceible with say: a body, or a gun. I think I'll make note of it for future refferenceMaxTheReaper said:That's because games rarely give you good enough AI/enough items to properly lure your enemies into a trap.Guitar Gamer said:see unless the game tells me exactly where to put a trap the guys that I'm trying to kill end up ether never getting near them, or walk right beside them, that's why I stick to big guns
For instance, what if you had a flashlight and a bear trap loaded with poison?
You could just drop the flashlight while it's on and stick the bear trap in front of it...and the guards would go to investigate.
But you can't do stuff like that.
or they use their super CSI Horatio intuition to pinpoint you unless you happen to be a LONG ways awayMaxTheReaper said:Exactly.Guitar Gamer said:that's a snazy idea, of course the flashlight could be replaceible with say: a body, or a gun. I think I'll make note of it for future refference
But most AI just looks at a body and gives a mighty shrug.
