It seems you and I have different viewpoints on what racism is. You seem to think that it is to view someone differently based on their skinncolour, wich is in a veary basicly way what racism is.Florion said:I don't buy it, when people say "I am NOT racist at all, I think racism is stupid, we're all equal." Of course they believe that; any decent person believes in equality. But believing something and acting it are different things. It's hard to examine our feelings at every moment, but even if you believe (and I hope you'll pardon my colloquial use of "you" if you're already aware of all this) even if you believe in racial equality, I'm betting you react differently to people of an "other" race, in any particular situation. Maybe it's not always because of race. But be honest, a lot of the time it is.
I however see racism as an ideology wich through fictional scientifical (sciense fiction) calculates the worth of different races.
I belive that people with black skin are more adapted to harsh sun,as people with white skin is to cold. I belive people in slums often resort to organized crime through gangs. that large quanteties of gangmembers in lets say america are black is because the capitalistsystem that USA use holds the black, wich was from the beginning supressed by the upperclass, and poor down and supress them to slum.
Anyone with half a brain can see that it's mostly cultural reasons that racist stereotypes has it's origins from.
For example. A stereotype is that orientalists (asians in china japan, korea... that area) aregood in school, 'specially math. This isn't genetic, but in a large amount of these areas it is usual to press the children to try to perform as good as possible in school, and thus a stereotype is born.
owever, to put myself in short terms: Racism and a racist stereotype are 2 different thing. Just as Platos philosophies are different from those of platoism.
