I distrust "gangstas". No matter what fucking color they are.

I don't find myself wary of black people. Mostly just awkward. I live in the Midwest in United States and while the high school I went to was a very mixed school--race was never discussed. You could never talk about it. So it becomes this awkward subject that students don't really know how to deal with. White students feel like they can't bring it up without everyone thinking they're racist (even if they have nothing controversial to say about it) and black students don't bring it up because...I dunno why. I only had a couple black friends in high school and race never came up between us. Teachers and staff point-blank avoided it unless we were discussing Civil War or Civil Rights history. There's no openness about race or racism. It was this taboo subject that no one could talk about.

But I am racist, truly, in the fact that I do not like humans, and I consider them beneath me. They are hypocritical, violent, and misguided.
That's not racism, that's misanthropy.
Or narcism, assuming he probably doesn't think of himself that way.

Everyones Racist, and if you think you aren't you're lying to yourself.

But theres a difference between angry hardcore racists and those who acknowledge and attempt to make light of it.

I just see them as really tanned people.

Although, while I don't have a problem with black people, or Chinese people, I can't stand Asian people (Not the American definition, the British definition, Brits will know what I mean)

I'm just inclined to not like them.

I'm a bit of a heterophobe. All you straight people just look a bit seedy to me.

But yes, most people have slight subconscious racism, which I personally think is environmental. I for one was raised by equal-rights hippies, so their ideologies have been passed down to me, making me quite open minded. Some people have racist or homophobic parents, so they naturally were taught to think these things at a young impressionable age.

The thing that MATTERS though is if you go against these views, knowing full well everybody is equal, or embracing them. To me it doesn't matter if you have the views or not, it's if you know they're stupid and fight against them is what matters.

Peace, man.

I am not racist, I am just as (if not more) paranoid of white people than minorities. As a white person its not exactly racist to hate white people because nearly every one of them you have ever met is a bigot. As for bigots of other races, they don't bother me because the bigots stay away from other races. I am not racist, however I will use racial slurs in the event of someone acting exactly like their stereotype because it fits.

Why does everyone feel the need to make threads on racism?!?
Because, at least in America, it's on our minds. Glen Beck called the president a racist, for pity's sake. We should talk about this.
For my part, I was vehemently anti-racist in high school, but then I went to uni and saw black people acting like thugs, playing their music loudly, carrying on in public and it got to me. I knew it wasn't all black people, maybe not even a majority, but every ten people of color who are decent human beings, I felt my anger transfixed by the one with his pants around his knees.
Oh, and white people who act that way piss me off, too, but that wasn't new.
I said that because this is probably the third thread on racism I've seen in a matter of days.

People might have a strong distrust for people of Asian descent here in Britain now because of a lot of the tension that formed after the 7/7 bombings and countless bomb scares. That doesn't necessarily mean they are racist, but negative experiences have now shaped one's subconscious opinion. The same logic can be applied as before.
Islam is not a race, it's a religion. Also, I think Brits should stop using the term Asian to describe people from countries such as Pakistan because it's confusing as hell.
I never said Islam was a race, I said people of Asian descent, and I'm talking about how one subconsciously lumps a similar ethnicity together due to lack of understanding and fear.

And I don't think we should stop using the term Asian for that, because that's what they are. Granted it's the same as calling a British person European, but it works for this instance I'm talking about, what with the lack of understanding and all.

I guess I am racist to some people like quite often I feel racist towards lebanese people because on the three occasions where I have been mugged it has always been lebanese guys, so sometimes I feel myself being quite rude towards them, but I try not to be because no one likes people who are racist.

So black males have 800 more homicides than white people? So fucking what? Doesn't make the race as a whole any less trustworthy.

I once had a black friend at my school. He was nice, but I guess I was always on my toes. Not the "HE'S GONNA PULL A GUN OH NO" toes, the "Don't be racist, don't be racist, don't be racist." toes. I always felt like anything I said might offend him. I dunno, I'm not racist... or maybe I am, I'm just always thinking I'll offend any black person I talk to. I do have an oriental friend, never had the same problem with him. Those were really the only two people of other race I ever came in contact with.

There are two things that I hate in this world - blacks and racism.
You, sir, are an oxymoron.

Did I use that right? You just contradicted yourself. Making that an oxymoron.

my girlfriend still doesn't believe me that india's a part of asia -.-

but ot: racism can be defined in different ways by different people. it all depends on what you and others around you to be considered offensive. terms like guidos, micks, pakis, etc can be offensive to some people, but not to others.

that being said, i like sick boy's view on things. some may call me racist because i stay away from and look down on the gangsta wannabe pieces of shit that hang around my mall, because they're of a different ethnicity, i have no problems with their ethnicity, it's because they're gangsta wannabe pieces of shit that i look down on them :p

Sounds fair enough. ;)

But I do know someone who said to me "I don't hate Asian people, I just hate pakis"...and the only thing I could do at that point is sit there, wide eyed at what he had just said. To me, that's racist, and it would take a lot to convince me otherwise.
