I'm watching my actions as well as my words. People deserve respect. And I feel no shame in changing my ways if wrong. So. . . what do you want!!!!
So you may have the instictive urge to be different towards different people. That doesn't mean anything, its animal nature. If you choose to act on it, that's when its bad. That's the racist difference.

People might have a strong distrust for people of Asian descent here in Britain now because of a lot of the tension that formed after the 7/7 bombings and countless bomb scares. That doesn't necessarily mean they are racist, but negative experiences have now shaped one's subconscious opinion. The same logic can be applied as before.
Islam is not a race, it's a religion. Also, I think Brits should stop using the term Asian to describe people from countries such as Pakistan because it's confusing as hell.
I never said Islam was a race, I said people of Asian descent, and I'm talking about how one subconsciously lumps a similar ethnicity together due to lack of understanding and fear.

And I don't think we should stop using the term Asian for that, because that's what they are. Granted it's the same as calling a British person European, but it works for this instance I'm talking about, what with the lack of understanding and all.
my girlfriend still doesn't believe me that india's a part of asia -.-

but ot: racism can be defined in different ways by different people. it all depends on what you and others around you to be considered offensive. terms like guidos, micks, pakis, etc can be offensive to some people, but not to others.

that being said, i like sick boy's view on things. some may call me racist because i stay away from and look down on the gangsta wannabe pieces of shit that hang around my mall, because they're of a different ethnicity, i have no problems with their ethnicity, it's because they're gangsta wannabe pieces of shit that i look down on them :p
Sounds fair enough. ;)

But I do know someone who said to me "I don't hate Asian people, I just hate pakis"...and the only thing I could do at that point is sit there, wide eyed at what he had just said. To me, that's racist, and it would take a lot to convince me otherwise.
that is racist. i'm not even british and i know that one.

Well... I don't think I'm racist, but I live in a town almost completely dominated by whited people. So whenever I go to a place that's not, it's a little awkward for me.

Only groups of people I hate... wiggers (not a race, just too stupid to see that they aren't black), Nazis (not a race), and fascist (not a race)... so no...

I hate how we have to be so carefull when talking about race, just incase people spot something 'racially incorrect' in your sentance after disecting it, trying, hoping to be offended.

Exactly. But he's on my AF team, so I'll just have to work it out with him. I mean imagine if an Asian guy joins the team??

I'm not racist, I'm just prejudiced and it just happens to cover races. But because I'm aware of this, I can develop a healthier relationship to my prejudices and hopefully not allow them to affect friendships.

Trying to remove prejudices entirely is unrealistic, so you're better of learning to live with it imo.

I use to wear those pants, but where I come from it's just an indicator that you like HipHop. I listen to it quite a lot. OK, maybe I'm a little bit fast when it comes to violence(thou shalt not insult my mother/family/homecountry), and I tend to have a very different opinion on stuff then most people, but still. I would never walk up to someone, and beat him up/rob him or something. It's kinda unfair. And ghey.
Around here, the only people who dress like that are the ones who listen to rap that's been on the Top $#10 charts for whatever.
Usually really loudly.

I admit that, although I have never even spoken to a black person, I feel kind of uneasy seeing one. Like in a train or somewhere.
I wouldn't judge someone before really knowing anything about them, but I guess I have to say that I'm pretty influenced by the media.
However, it seems to be primarily the black people themselves, who propagate the "gangsta" image that makes me feel uneasy about them.

I know it's stupid to be influenced by the media that much, but it seems to subconsciously have some effects anyways. It's just a small feeling, but it's noticeable.

PS:
I think it's kind of strange how a lot of people openly say they hate humans and general and that seems to be okay, but being racist has that taboo attached to it.
There are of course some good reasons why racism is shunned, but shouldn't the same reasons apply to misanthropy as well?

I don't feel uptight or mistrustful of people of other races but I do notice them and will sometimes think of a racist remark when I see black people on the news committing crimes. Not always.. but sometimes. And I always feel like slime afterwards.

But then I do the same thing with a few stereotypes, like scummy areas that people of any colour live in so.. I don't really know...

But I've never understood how people can hate or dislike or mistrust someone based on the colour of their skin

What I do hate though is when White people are discriminated against and then it's magically not racism anymore... Double Standards bug the fuck out of me.

But I am racist, truly, in the fact that I do not like humans, and I consider them beneath me. They are hypocritical, violent, and misguided.
That's not racism, that's misanthropy.
Technically "Humanity" is a race, according to Guru Nanak.

All racism is wrong. Doesn't matter who the victim is, be they white, black, asian or whatever. Doesn't matter if they are a minority or a majority. Any offensive term directed at another due to genetic traits or country of origin is unacceptable.

To put it simply, I'm rationally not racist, but I might be a little at a subconscious level like just about everyone. I generally get along well with people of all races who are at least somewhat polite, however.
that sum's up all you need to know about yourself and racism all in one catchy song.

Yes. Give me the big red button that will kill of humanity and I will button-mash it.
Sheesh... Hating all of mankind, huh?

I'm pretty tired of people hating everything and saying: 'Genocide to all humans!' or 'we don't deserve this beautiful planet we were given!' and 'why do we do the awful things we do?' (that's soooo generation X - or emo, I forget...)

Anyways, I don't care for the colour of one's skin, but I admit, there are other aspects I would sometimes dare to judge people on.

And I always kick my own ass when I catch myself doin' something like that. Bad Arqus Zed, Bad!
