I agree, the lines are very much blurred with that series and I also am hesitant to call it an FPS. However, the series is really really awesome and so I thought I could get away with including it because it's a first-person game and you do fire projectiles. So yeah, any excuse to mention Metroid Primebeliever258 said:All of those games you listed are particularly awesome, but can Metroid Prime really be called a shooter? In its original Gamecube state, it was an action-adventure game that was in first person. It didn't even have a traditional shooting mechanic, which by the way made it vastly better than it would have been with a traditional dual-analog control scheme. I'm just wondering how it qualifies a shooter, because first person does not always equal shooter.CrashBang said:Poor choices, bro (and GeOW isn't an FPS) and you won't get any 'hurr durr' crap on this site
My all-times favourites are the Metroid Prime series, Bioshock, Fallout 3 (although that one's fairly cross-genre) and I was a big fan of the first Killzone back in the day. My favourite CoD was CoD2 but Modern Warfare was also great and my favourite Halo is Reach, it really is a 'best of' Halo game
EDIT: Totally forgot about Battlefield, embarrassing. BFBC2 is my favourite multiplayer game evaar
Also, whilst I'm here, EDIT: Totally forgot about Timesplitters 2. Ahh, the memories
