I'm tempted to say Team Fortress 2, but strangely enough I feel I have to vote for Sauerbraten. It's just so more natural than any other FPS I've ever played. It doesn't have the chunkiness of Quake, the slowed-down feel of Halo, the excessive complexity of TF2, it just works.
Oh yeah, and there's a dynamic in-game editor that's about as easy to use as taking a piss.

My favorite is 007: Nightfire because it's still really fun to play with my friends. Especially against incredibly hard bots.

Eeee~... For me, it's a tough choice between the Battlefield and Half-Life series.

I ended up voting Half-Life, though, because while I think gamplay-wise the Battlefield series takes the cake, the setting, story and characters of the Half-Life series wins out.

Obviously that's just my opinion, but yea, that's how I made my choice.

Ahem.

Gears of War is a third person shooter. FPS stands for FIRST person shooter.

Gears = TPS

FPS =/= TPS

By the transitive property, Gears =/= FPS.

Sorry, this happens SO much on these forums. Like, at least a dozen times a day I'd bet. Hopefully this'll help someone catch that mistake.

OT: By the terms in the OP, Halo Reach dominates nearly all of them.

It really matters how the aiming is set out you can have a third person view with a first person aimer for example the most recent transformers game War for Cybertron (I think?) which is an fps aim with a third person view I do not own An xbox so I don't even know how gears of war is set out

Gow
CoD MWF
Gow2
COD MWF2
BLOPS
Halo Reach
Halo 3
etc..


It was only those three games, and their sequels and such. It was a pretty lamesauce list of weakness.
