If it's WORTH it. The typical AAA release is only worth £30 tops. Though for a truly premium game with premium content, I'm willing to pay as much as £60 if I'm certain that the work has been put into it both quality and quantity wise.
I'm Australian AND I'm a member of the PC gaming master race... so if new games dropped in price to $69.99 I'd be rejoycing - anywhere between $80 and $110 is standard here for a new release.
Anywho, actual answer is that I'd probably continue to do what I already do, which is wait (sometimes up to a year - don't have a lot of gaming time so in no hurry ) for the price drop on the vast majority of titles.
The most I've ever spent on a single game was $30, and that was pretty high for me. So that's a no, I'd just continue to do what I always do, wait months/years for the "Complete edition" with all the DLC, then buy it on sale.
I usually wait a few months before I buy a new game, recently bought the Mass Effect Trilogy for $60. I'd make more use of Steam sales if my Internet wasn't so shit.
It all depends on the game in question honestly. Sony has said they don't expect game prices to go above the current price point for example and the Wii U...well the games that have been released and the ones around the corner seem to cap out at about 59.99 (some are surprisingly less expensive like Lego City Undercover). Collector's Ed's are always going to be $79 - $99 (not counting tier 2 collector's ed bundles like the inevitable Legendary Halo 5).
I don't see any game that I would pay $69 for on day one though to be honest. Watch Dogs would tempt me but I also really want Sleeping Dogs and I'm still skittish about paying $30 for that one. Alternatively if they announce a new Metroid FPS (Prime or otherwise...Ultimate Metroid...Metroid: Unstoppable) I would probably drop $99 on that if there was a good enough collector's bundle. Same with a new Star Fox but those are in the case of collector's bundles. A new Saint's Row costing $70 would only tempt me if they bring back Septic Avenger, Crowd Control and...well the other good parts of 2 that were omitted in 3.
