Dang! I forgot to add the "Galactica".
That, definitely... or any other battlestar. It's not that important as long as I have enough Vipers, crew and fuel

A Firefly-class ship, like Serenity. Hell, just Serenity itself, because cruising with Wash Book Mal and te othrs would be pretty damn awesome... :)

Its a thread bump, i know, but i just remembered a bunch of awesome ships.

Anyone remember Freespace 2? :D

The GTVA Colossus [http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/GTVA_Colossus] would be awesome, but failing that a Deimos class Corvette [http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/GTCv_Deimos] or a Hecate class Destroyer [http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/GTD_Hecate] would do :p

I always liked the Dauntless class light cruiser from the 40K universe (p10):

The Durandal from Xenosaga I
Overwhelming firepower does not begin to cover that.

I'll be unimaginitive and say the SR2 Normandy. With EDI keeping most of the ship together and me simply sitting in orbit, lounging around in the cabin and occasionally taking the Hammerhead hovertank down planetside for... I dunno, business and picking up friend who are interested in a zany space adventure... Which is kinda cut short by the lack of mass relays.

My main objective is getting something that's comfortable to live in, but not going to get too much trouble from governments demaind that I hand it over. Having realized that though, I'm changing my vote to a ship that the governments won't trouble me over over because they'll be too damn scared, whilst also having all the luxury of a flagship superdreadnaught. The Exectuor. I'm in no real mood for an Eclipse superlaser, so I'll settle for 17.5km of turbolasers and pimpish personal quarters. Guess I'll need to learn how to pilot a lambda shuttle, though.

OT: Probably either a Star Trek Cruiser, Like the intrepid class starship (*drools* - Thats voyagers to you non-trekkies), No prizes for guessing what class i am on ST:O, Or an X wing.
I like a lot of the tech in Star Trek. I like the Intrepid because it had bioneural gel packs which allowed the computers to process more like a human mind. It was also the fastest non-transwarp ship in the Federation. Its shuttle craft looked cool too.

Alas, the 24 century isn't my favorite Trek timeline. LCARS is too streamlined for me. I like the TOS-movie Enterprise, which was a refit of the original version. If you want to get really nit-picky, I like the bridge from the Wrath of Kahn set design the best. The layout had the turbolift doors placed out of view from the view screen (Kahn would not see somebody walking in while the channel was open). The lighting was dark and subdued. It is so much better than the bridge from TMP and ST: III (which was also the same bridge for the Reliant in Wrath)

OT: So yeah, I would take the Enterprise, specifically from Wrath of Kahn with a few minor upgrades. I also like the Akria class from DS9, Voyager, and First Contact (my favorite movie with the TNG cast), again with minor upgrades (mostly a few added phaser arrays for better all around coverage). That is my favorite ship class from the 24th century.
