Who wins?

and I don't just mean in a one on one dual..... I mean difficulty of villains, "real" identities, In the wake of the latest Marvel film, and the constant debate over the next Bat villain from the Nolan films, I have been discussing this with my friends and thought I'd throw it to the escapist.

both fight crime using the money their deceased dads ( and in Burce's case, mom too) left them. neither of them have super powers they both are just super smart and super good with making weaponized gadgets.

so Bat, or Bot? ( okay I guess he's a man in a suit but hey alliteration eh? poetic licensing

which degenerate rich kid do you like?

Sorry my friend, but versus threads are frowned upon. I suggest reading up on the forum rules first.

Not to be a spoilsport though, the obvious answer is Batman. He's the world's greatest detective, he knows exactly what to bring against a fight against Iron Man.

Stark will just be cocky as usual. And drunk.

Batman. His story's just a lot...darker? And what he fights for makes slightly more sense, and is less selfish. I don't know, I prefer Bruce Wayne's multiple personalities to Tony Stark's bravado. Plus Tony Stark reminds me a bit of myself, it's kind of confronting.

I just did, and I didn't see anything about how a versus thread was not allowed.... and come on guys give Tony some credit, despite being a binge drinker ( which I think adds to his humanistic qualities) Tony has a, okay..... I was about to say good heart.... ummm he has a bad heart ( literally) , but he still ends up doing the right thing

After seeing Iron Man 2 I have to say Tony. I think the cocky and semi-asshole attitude is funny. And he kinda has a right to it. He does have a wearable WMD that he built himself.

Batman
Along with the super power of money that they both have, Batman also has the ability to get more stuff done in a shorter amount of time than anyone else. He's apparently an expert at science, jujitsu, ninjitsu, and business at age 30something.
Or maybe not. But even if you claim that batman is 71 or older (the first comic was from 1939) then it just shows how good he is at combat at that age.

Both will win, since they will just go into buisness together. Batman will start shooting lazers, and Stark will learn some karate chops. All while making trillions of dollars.

Well before this versus thread gets 404'd, Batman. No contest. Tony Stark is a self-serving, opportunistic prick that split the Marvel Universe in two. And don't anyone give me that "it wasn't really Tony, it was a Skrull!" bullshit. He was like that way before he was replaced with a sleeper agent.

What's he gonna bring? A magnet? Iron Man 2, Whiplash had freakin' power lines for whips and he still couldn't beat Stark.

Neither really wins because the only winning move is "Not to play in silly Versus Threads." (JK)

But you asked two questions: "Who would win?" and "Who do we like better?"

If it were Iron Man's standard armor versus the Batman Beyond suit, I'd say apples to oranges.

Wayne goes for a subtlety in combat that borders between Patient Hunter and Killing Blow (Tau FTW). He relies on stealth/shadows as much as Ham-handed punches to win fights.

Stark tends to prefer a style I call "HOWDY!" One second, you're alone noticing a strange shooting star on the horizon. The next second, that shooting star (actually the IronMan armor in flight) has smashed into you and turned your once intact body into red mist.

So neither one is really better because they both bring different skill sets to a fight.

As for "Who do I like better?"
Stark. At least he enjoys his wealth.

Damn, generally I say Batman can pretty much beat anyone, given his genuine cunning. However, I'm crazy torn here. I'm playing out this battle in my head and it just wont end! We need another DC vs Marvel to settle this I think. I would love to see a full on Batman meets Iron Man book.

Everything has it's weakness, Batman will exploit it. That's how he rolls.

What is Batman going to do against a suit of literally impenetrable, laser shooting, flying armor? Punch it?
I mean they're probably even in terms of money and public ego, but imagine Iron man in a fist fight with the joker... now imagine batman, in a fistfight with two dozen armed to the teeth drones...

Well I think Iron Man is a more fun character. And some of Batman's villains are just ridiculous (Calenderman, Polka-Dot Man). Although a lot of Iron Man's universe requires a large suspension of disbelief.

But I don't think I can choose a favourite.

If it came down to a fight, I'd have to know what Tony had currently installed on his suit and what equipment Batman had before I could call it.

Batman, sure his suit isn't as high tech, but that wouldn't stop him, it hasn't before. If he can take Superman and Darksied, I'm sure he can figure out how to take out Iron Man.
