Poll: is 4chan Bad?

i myself quite like 4chan.

Compared to The Escapist it is like the KKK.

I just don't like it, there is no point to the website.

I go on there often, usually just as a /b/ lurker to watch the more entertaining threads pan out. The Escapist is awesome but sometimes it's nice to see a place more lax on rules. The main thing that makes me dislike being there is the structure, or rather, lack of it. It's not a user friendly forum, whereas here has a really good user interface.

What I've heard and seen of it, it's basically pure evil in the form of a web page.
But everyone has their own tastes, just because they're different doesn't mean they're evil.

Some of the threads in 4chan are pretty useless. /V/ for instance is an ongoing console war, with a collective opinion about games.

But depending on your interests, it can be a good source for links and images.

Adambot, its a pretty NSFW website so posting a direct link might get you trouble.

The racism is in jest and only on /b/.
Every board has its own point to it except for /b/, and honestly there doesn't need to be a point for anything other than the lulz.It's really good because the purpose of the board is what you make it.Which is sorta like life.

Well some board people would find, errr... Distasteful. Shall we say, but it has boards like /trv/ in which I've never seen a single racist joke, but then I don't visit 4chan much these days.

I'm not going to be some 4chan paladin trying to defend his faith. However I will say this. Anyone who thinks that everyone who goes to 4chan, or even to /b/, is racist. Obviously has a lot in common with someone who thinks that everyone who goes to The Escapist is a nerd or a geek.

EDIT: As or the site its self, well all the boards have much superior counter parts. For example, /v/ is pretty crap compared to The Escapist. There are a bunch of sites about anime that crush /a/, and the same is true for all most all the other boards.

I mostly just lurk on /tv/, it all depends really with such a random assorment of posters, most of the stuff is pure crap but theres always the occasional thread of lulz worth reading.

It depends. Some people like it, others don't. Opinions aren't fact, so declaring something as bad doesn't get you very far.

There are also plenty of reasons for that website, every board is one big reason.
