I like girls who get tech. and stuff like that, but it would not be that big of a deal.

Texting isn't bad but unfortunately I voted before reading what you considered technologically illiterate. I could careless if they don't text well probably dont have a keyboard phone i hated texting till i got one with a keyboard. It would be a little more worrying if she didn't know how to use basic computer stuff but even then you could probably just show her how in the long run.

No. It doesn't really matter, now does it? Then it gives you more time to hang out and talk in real life instead of over a phone.

I guess this is just one of those times you've got to ask yourself: what is more important to you?
A.) Receiving a bunch of acronyms jumbled together on a cell phone screen, or
B.) The possibility of getting laid

No,why are you worried about this? It's not like this is a major issue. It's not like you can't reach her with other forms of communication. For example, Carrier Pigeons.

why would you care about that?

she can't work a phone (a.k.a. she's rich) girls and my nephew waste hundreds of dollars on text messaging a year.

why the fuck should that matter??

if you like a girl why should her ability to text (or lack of) have any effect on your relationship?

yes its a bit odd, but so long as she can answer the phone if you call it just should have no impact.

How I see it. Technology is all around us. Computers are all around. It affects out lives every single day. There is no possible way you can live a normal life without it affecting you in some way, shape, or form. You might as well know how to use a computer at the minimum. By use, I don't mean, open up Microsoft word, or go online. I mean, able to fix minor issues, be able to realize that having 3 antivirus programs that are all out of date serves no purpose, or understand what exactly RAM does.
It's sort of like buying a car. You (at least I hope not) don't wake up, say "I wanna buy a car" then go out to Ford, or Honda, and just buy any old random car. You do some research on the cars, see what they can do, at least understand the basics of a car, how many mpg, how big the engine is, and all that jive.

So yes, it seems like an issue to me. At least for the older crowd

Technological illiteracy might be an issue in other areas (work, education etc.), but I can't see how it should have any influence on relationship appeal. At any rate, it is probably easily remedied, and you'll have something to teach her.

I fail to see how a lack of tech-savvy-ness is an issue. Just call her. Emailing works too. Besides, teaching her probably wont take that long anyways.

Wait, have her thumbs been surgically removed? What does "I'm not good with messaging" mean? My dad is good with messaging and he seems to think printers will get fixed by receiving strong kicks.
Works for my computer tower. Well, smacks rather than kicks, but same deal.

If you can't handle technology it can either mean you're helpless and out of touch, or it means you live a life that do not require it. The latter isn't unappealing, but the former is.

Being technologically illiterate at the current time is not a huge issue as far as living one's life goes, but you are missing out on an entire world of entertainment, media, and information. In the future as man becomes more reliant on technology, being unable to use it will become crippling.

She's probably just never heard anyone call text messaging SMS'ing.

Though even if she doesn't know how to text it's no big deal. I would mock such a person but not like them any less.

We are pretty evenly divided over this (I voted yes, but I myself am divided now).

For me, it would be a big thing, because I dig nerd women. What I want in a woman is a ham radio license and a working knowledge of perl. Not knowing how to text is unacceptable.

My tastes are not yet universal, of course, so I'm afraid the decision is still up to you. Listen to the counsel of your peers, and choose wisely.

I don't think it's that strange. She might just be using that as an excuse to get you to actually call her. Call her.

I can see why that'd be a problem in, say, education or the work place but relationships?
No, I don't think it should make any difference. So she can't text, so call her. Calls are more personal anyway...
