I love family guy, all episodes, all season. so for me its not going down hill
Same. It has that kind of mindless humor I need sometimes to help me overcome the fact that far too many retarded people are having kids and voting in elections.

Kind of went off on a short rant there but yeah I like it too.

The characters have become waaaaay too Flanderized for my tastes.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I used to like every character, now I just sort of like Meg since she's by far the least Flanderized because they've been spending more time making her the Butt Monkey for no better reason than that Macfarlane doesn't know how to write for a teenage girl.

It wouldn't be right without the running gags, imo.
Running gags are fine, but they shouldn't be a joke unto themselves, they should just be a springboard to a new joke. The way they have it now, it's basically "Hey, remember when we were funny?"

Sorry for being the one to break this to you, but Family Guy has been a subpar show ever since its conception.
It never was very intelligent. Of course now that whoever kept Seth McFarlane in check and kept him from turning his show into propaganda has (been) fired/retired/died it's becoming preachy as hell. Just like everything else these days. It really isn't their forte and just like their more irreverent humour it's notably forced. The best episode they've had in awhile (my brother and father love Family Guy) was the one were Quagmire cursed brian out for 5 minutes, and that was the only good part.

It's been going downhill along time ago. Some of the episodes are funny, but now...it's just getting repetitive and annoying.

You're not crazy.

But you're incredibly insecure if you think that just because you made an observation, that means the internet will have made a full psychological evaluation of you and will give you a coherent, constructive and smart opinion or explanation of your situation.

Also, Family Guy got old a long while back.
Ouch. Don't get me wrong, you have a point, but that seemed mildly harsh. I would have not said, "You're insecure," I would have been more like, "you're right, however, where the discussion aside from agreeing and disagreeing?"

OT: I've always thought the show was bad comparing it to shows similar to it, like South Park or The Simpson.

Oh, I'm just joking. It isn't meant to be seen as something demeaning, just poking fun at how he says it like he's insecure.

I've been a Family Guy fan since the show started (as though my avatar wasn't indicative of this) but I think the show really lost all its energy after Season 5. 6 had a few decent ones, 7 was just "meh." Season 8 started off really well (the alternate universes episode was AMAZING) but overall, this show has lost what made it really great.

Went right over my head. ;P
Saying things in a funny voice is hard to communicate through text.

I've seen the first 3 seasons too many times to get any enjoyment from them, and everything since they came back got increasingly bad week to week. The show is now nothing but Seth MacFarlane using Brian as his crude mouthpiece and a whole bunch of soft-core aristocrats style jokes.

I wasn't big on Family Guy after its 4th season.

The last 2 seasons however have been excellent.
