I love family guy, all episodes, all season. so for me its not going down hill
If there's one thing I have to agree with it's that American Dad is very underrated.WorkerMurphey said:I tend to think it's pretty weak when compared to the social relevance and occasional brilliance of South Park and the surprisingly good and severely underrated American Dad.
My biggest gripe comes from the heavy handed political edge (see Brian's random diatribes) the show tries to deliver that is better accomplished through satire of the aforementioned shows.
Dude, when was family guy EVER at the top of the hill?thenoblegaunt said:I've seen some of the more recent episodes and some of them are just not as good as the older ones. Am I crazy or not?
South Park is easily the greatest animated show of our generation. The only one that ever came close to its brilliance and sheer entertainment value would have to be Futurama. Unfortunately it was aired on the Fox network, and if Firefly has taught us anything its that Fox hates success and apparently feeds off of the hate of the mass publicWorkerMurphey said:I tend to think it's pretty weak when compared to the social relevance and occasional brilliance of South Park and the surprisingly good and severely underrated American Dad.

I think the chicken fight is being overused. It was funny the first two times or so but afterwords I feel that they needed to stop.Moose Fisher said:IMO, it's only funny if Peter is fighting the chicken or there's a scene with Adam West. The running gag about Meg gets a chuckle or two.
I would also agree with this, It surpassed family guy a long time ago. Also, considering south park's decline since season 12 and it's pretty much the best animated t.v. show at the moment. Not laugh out loud funny most of the time, but very enjoyable.thenoblegaunt said:If there's one thing I have to agree with it's that American Dad is very underrated.WorkerMurphey said:I tend to think it's pretty weak when compared to the social relevance and occasional brilliance of South Park and the surprisingly good and severely underrated American Dad.

You pretty much summed up my thoughts on the show. Except I think the Simpson's had a much more visible decline, so far at least.Small Waves said:When it came back it wasn't as good as the previous seasons but was still enjoyable, but then it started to show the most visible decline in quality I have ever seen in any show I have seen in my lifetime.
Subpar can still go lower.LiquidGrape said:...going downhill?
Sorry for being the one to break this to you, but Family Guy has been a subpar show ever since its conception.
Damn, beaten to it. It's been downhill for a while now, but it's still funny...sometimes. The overly-long cut in gags are annoying, but stuff like Road to the Multiverse is fantastic.LiquidGrape said:...going downhill?
If this isn't the truest statement ever. It's just a half-hour long series of self-references and mindless pop-culture.LiquidGrape said:Sorry for being the one to break this to you, but Family Guy has been a subpar show ever since its conception.
The Simpsons is too erratic. The quality of the post-8th season episodes are extremely schizophrenic, or at least that's what I think.thenoblegaunt said:You pretty much summed up my thoughts on the show.
