When it came back it wasn't as good as the previous seasons but was still enjoyable, but then it started to show the most visible decline in quality I have ever seen in any show I have seen in my lifetime.
You pretty much summed up my thoughts on the show. Except I think the Simpson's had a much more visible decline, so far at least.
The Simpsons is too erratic. The quality of the post-8th season episodes are extremely schizophrenic.
True, but the simpson's eventually fell to the point where they just stopped being good all together. I think Family Guy is where the simpsons was around it's 11th season, still watchable on occasion, but you can tell it's running out of ideas.

It's been going downhill for a few years now. All the jokes are designed to waste as much time as possible.

Like those never ending live action gags that don't actually have any jokes.

Surprisingly there's a guy I know who thinks the long, drawn out, stupid leg break scene is hilarious, but then again I do wonder how he manages to keep his brainwaves moving.

Yeah it's going downhill to the point where Seth is just making angry jokes about how he's still bitter about FOX cancelling Family Guy twice.

I've seen some of the more recent episodes and some of them are just not as good as the older ones. Am I crazy or not?
Went down hill after season 4.

To be fair the joke was funny like once. What I really meant was gags like that stupid 5 minute long Conway Twitty song they cut to once.

Certainly ninja'd, but POSTING ANYWAYS

Going downhill? I thought it was already rivaling the Mariana Trench for lowest physical location on the surface of the planet.

I actually think the opposite, that the episodes are getting better as they go on.
Then again, I only watch an episode every now and again, so I might just be catching the good ones.

Heh...I was just on a thread discussing things that make you feel old, and this is another one. I clearly remember when Family Guy came out like it was recently, yet that was over ten years ago.

Anyway, no, I still like the show. If anything, I think it's improved. Although there are some differences that I noticed after it was canceled, and this picture sums them up.

It's not as good as it used to be but I'd say they're just running out of ideas, but I still like American Dad.

I used to really like it, at least on some days, but I can't even watch it now. It dove off the Grand Canyon when it started relying on the running gags and flashbacks.

Family Guy is already at the bottom. Although I do think it's amazing that the writers have found a way to create a popular show where the only jokes are not even remotely connected to the story at all.

...where've you been for the last eight or so years? That show went downhill fast after about season 2.
